Re: Games you'd like to see remade (or demade?)

Chrono Trigger is all that's been in my DS for the last 10 months. One more time through and I will have beaten it more times on DS than I did on SNES :D

Re: Barbie is now a computer engineer!

LMAO! It's funny you should mention it because if you look at her screen, the binary follows a pattern as follows: 01000010 01100001 01110010 01100010 01101001 01100101 Translated to integers, this reads: 66 97 114 98 105 101 Then traslated into askii: B a r b i e So the screen essentially reads &qu...

Re: Elysian Shadows Revolution 2

Am I going to be the only one at the launch party :( I live NY so it's going to be at 1 AM for me :) I can't wait! I'd love to be there, but I'm closing the bar tonight, which means I'll be there past midnight PST. I was going to watch it when I got home, but now that it's looking to be well over a...

Re: Those of you Rewatching Adventures in Game Development

I really liked the in-depth look at the code here... /agree This was really informative vid, and the screen capture is nice and crisp so we can actually see what's going on. Even compared to the Elysian Shadows Revolution stuff (just look at Elysian Shadows Revolution: Episode 1 Part 2, ~3:30) whic...

Re: Separating Axis Theorem For The Rest Of Us.

Thanks for clearing this up guys. I guess my biggest misunderstanding was that a vector does not necessarily have a location, and it's magnitude and direction can be obtained from the x and y. I found this page to be really helpful in clearing up most of what I didn't / but needed to know to grasp S...

Re: Separating Axis Theorem For The Rest Of Us.

Can anyone explain to me what the x and y of the vector represent? Every tutorial I've read on SAT is ambiguous with this, perhaps because it should be obvious. That being said I'm failing to understand how these two values fully describe a vector that has: location (x and y?) direction magnitude (a...

Re: Those of you Rewatching Adventures in Game Development

My favorite episode is Ch. 13 for the following reasons: 1) Productivity! There was a lot to show off in this episode (even art!), and there's really nothing better to watch than progress. 2) Antics. Insults, creative scripting games, general comedy; it all keeps the pace of the vids fun. Thankfully...

I'm just in city college and I got it for free from www.dreamspark.com
It's a great program MS runs themselves. You just have to jump through a couple hoops to verify your student status, but it only took me about 15 minutes.

Re: Book Recommendation Needed

Ok, so I found C++: a beginners guide for $11 for a "like new" copy of the book. I went ahead and ordered it and I still have most of the gift card to try one of the others if this doesn't do the trick for me. Thanks guys.

Re: Dynamic signature secirity risk??

Dude, nearly every website you go to today is storing all that information when you visit it anyway. They want to know your browser/resolution/OS to maximize usability and anytime you're banned from somewhere it's cause they know your IP. Use a firewall and don't put up any info that would give a L3...

Book Recommendation Needed

So I have a $50 gift card for Barnes and Noble. I was wondering if y'all could help me with a book recommendation. I'm looking for a book on C++ that goes beyond the basics. I'm comfortable with all simple data types, control structures, arrays/vectors, references, pointers and structs I'm still get...

I had a friend (actually a friend of my wife) who put a down payment on a house right out of college from doing that very thing. He took out the loans, then worked his way through college on his own. He made something like 30k O_o

Re: Bop N' Pop! 360 Edition

Well crap. I WAS getting close to approval. I think I was at like 43% - but that was just for English. People were bitching about the other languages because some of the graphics (like "Victory" and "Defeat") weren't translated. (which, for the record, I've played plenty of &quo...
