Re: C++ Beginner?

I don't know about books, but I can heartily recommend this video series: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=1D10C030FDCE7CE0 69 in total, 10 minutes each, going from extremely basic to classes, arrays, functions etc. It's nothing very advanced but they are very well done and easy to understand...

Nope, it says commercially. So you can't sell them. It should be fine giving them away.

Re: Programming Practice

OK I have one for yout all. Now it seems alot of programmers(experienced ones too) have problems figuring this one out. OK so here it is Print the numbers from 1 to 100 if the number is a multiple of 3 print foo, if it is a multiple of 5 print bar, if its both print foobar. BTW you'll be printing f...

Re: SDL Tutorials

[ It doesn't work for VC++ 2008 though :( Yes it does. Here is a tutorial on how to set it up in VC++ 2008 . There is also one in Focus on SDL. I meant this tutorial ;) Some of the stuff is in different places in the 2008 version, I couldn't figure out how to set it up. But I'm using Dev-C++ now so...

Re: /

Tbh, there's a difference between stating your impression of whether men or women are better at programming than actually knowing about it. You'd have to study two kids of the opposite sex, raised under identical conditions, then teach them programming and see who does better.. Which is impossible. ...

Re: Your absolute favorite games, and why

Halo + Halo Custom Edition :) Because with CE there's pretty much endless gameplay. People are creating maps all the time. You can make your own everything :mrgreen: And it's just such a classic FPS. Also, the old Runescape. Yeah, I said OLD. Don't like any of this new stuff, it's now a boring fail ...

LOL... nice. yea that sounds really cool. it's actually a big comfort hearing that you failed the first two times (as twisted as that sounds), because I failed two times at programming too! so wow, that actually does inspire me some and gives me hope that i can give it another whack. thanks! But he...

Re: Official "Hello, World! (I'm new!)" thread

Hey, I'm Ewan, I'm 14 and just getting into proper programming. I can 3D model to an extent, I'm learning C++and C#. When I've ticked off all the things on my "To Learn" list (taken from Game Development: Getting Started Part 2 ;) ) I'm going to check out SDL and hopefully will be able to ...
