Re: Where to start with game content...
Thinks for the tips! I'll go look at those sites later. About the ripping: Is that illegal? If you ever tried to sell the game, couldn't the game developers sue you for using the sprites? Then again, why would you sell something that isn't completely your work, and who would buy it? Yeah, you defini...

Where to start with game content...
I have been coding in C# for about a year. I have other ideas for simple games, but I don't know where to start with game content. I have the software, I just want to make more than 'programmer art' (no, I'm not looking for those OMFG awsome graphics, just stuff thats legible). Anyone know where I s...

Re: Computer failures - Post your woes!
Windows and the many games you play on it pretty much take a crap load of RAM nowadays. :( Sounds like a Vista problem. Windows 7 does extremely well on just 1gb of RAM. Thats pretty much my beef with Vista. It's running smoothly, but its a resource piggy. I feared Windows 7 would be a repeat of Mi...

Re: Computer failures - Post your woes!
When I built my first computer, I never used spacers when installing the motherboard. The motherboard was grounded and the computer wouldn't boot. Had to take it to a shop to tell me what I did wrong. You just gave me an idea. Buy some more RAM for this aging piece of junk....I mean solid and reliab...

Re: Windows 7
I'm just curious how Windows 7 works 'performance wise'. My only beef with Vista is that it was a massive resource piggy, and I feared Windows 7 might have the same issues looking at the posted system requirements. Anyone care to share their experiences?

Why is there a big color blotch at the ends of the profiles? You can't move anything to the sidebar with channels looking so ugly, I can't even put much in mine because of it.

Re: XNA Game Studio / C#
I have been using XNA for a while ( PONG Clone and experiments). Nice way to make games, and from what I've heard C# and C++ are somewhat similar languages. I have considered learning the industry standard C++ along the road once I have C# down (and learn all the concepts of proramming along the way).

Homeworkers who fail...(a rant).
What really irritates me is pleas for help on forums and communities from aleged 'programmers' who just want you to do their homework. They can't cover up their true intentions (let alone code), and they are pretty much a waste of time to put up with while there is someone out there who wants to wor...

Re: Violent in video games: will it last or will it pass?
Seeing how violence is pratically the easiest (and most entertaining) means of making some sort of conflict, its not going to go away. I wish politicans would get off our backs about video game violence though.

Re: First day of class
I'm posting from class. Here's my class schedule: 1) Networking 2) Networking Lab 3) GUI Software Design 4) Microelectronics 5) Microprocessors 6) Microprocessors Lab 7) Analysis of Algorithms. Ugh... I wish I was in college. I'm so far ahead of everything in my high school and I pretty much just w...

Re: J-fail: Unstoppable
As far as I know, Unstoppable seems to be one of the best XNA games I have seen, compaired to the half-hearted apps you see on Xbox LIVE Marketplace Trufun, are you gonna take this abuse?! :) Im not mocking his game! Im just saying that this, the Pop N' Bop game your hinting at, and a few other gam...

Re: J-fail: Unstoppable
I don't WANT to like it...but it does look good. Meh. Same. But hey, on the bright side you can only respect an XNA game so much. *goes off to be a conceited C++ coder* Nah. Whether a game is made on XNA, Allegro, whatever your poision is, its still a game. All that matters is rather the final prod...
