Re: Classes starting, anything I should know?
Agreed with the 'intro to programming classes being a forced joke' thing, it would be nice if you could test out of it or something. Save money and time, hell if you're in the right school, you could fill that in with an elective to better round your skills or even introduce you to a new area of le...

Re: Classes starting, anything I should know?
Thanks! I've been wanting to make XNA games, but I can put that on hold (to be honest, I was one of those idiots who 'started' developing games before getting into programming). I got the book the school is using, and I'm already reading through it.

Classes starting, anything I should know?
I've been coding what I could in C#, and all I've could come up with is one game and a bunch of half-assed crud. This semester I'm going to be in an Intro to Programming class, which teaches Visual Basic. Is there anything I should now about the transition from (some) C# to Basic? Also, does anybody...

Re: What projects are you currently working on?
The past snow days we have been having has allowed my to get off my ass and get stuff done. I got together some of the space shooting game (as far as single player goes) and made some decent sprites thats good enough for building the game.

Re: Media tries to linch game industry with its own intestines.
Text boxes aren't working right, replying to previous posts... Yes, they were being informative. They are also paid to get viewers in, so the shock value was thrown in there to get everybody's attention. I got a PSP for Xmas last month, and I don't want people to be diverted from it's awesomeness, ...

Re: Media tries to linch game industry with its own intestines.
It just seems like the usual crap that fox always pump out, all of this crap they said is pretty circumstancial, how they decided to single out a specific device, namely the PSP, suggesting that the PSP and solely the PSP is to blame. As far as Im concerned, they are just a bunch of attention whore...

Media tries to linch game industry with its own intestines.
News stations are turning my advanced plaything into sick, wreched sex machines (damn them, and why do they do this to us?).

Re: Censorship gone crazy
I never really understood where people got the idea video games kill people. All this does is make honest developers look like spawns of saintin while the contrevorsy acts as a scapegoat (one that nobody notices) to genuine, evil criminals. And whatever happened to personal censorship? When somebody...

Ratchet and Clank : Size Matters
I nice little game I would recommend getting! Has a few quirks, but I recommend it. Gameplay: Size matters plays out nearly like all the other R&Cs in the line up. The controls do take some getting used to, and the quick select button will sometimes pop-up whenever you don't want it to (it would...

Re: SSD powah
SDDs are awsome, I just wish they werent so expensive. I always thought of just setting up a RAID 0 with three 1TB HDDs.
2:50, I thought you werent supposed to defrag SDDs. And wouldn't the increase in storage interfere with read/write speeds?

Re: PC Hardware Question
I'm not sure if you have to do that for your PC or not, but you might have to configure your BIOS to use the card instead of the intergrated graphics (I had a similar thing on my board).

Re: What projects are you currently working on?
So far I'm just working on my second 'original' game (space shooter derived from a happy meal toy) and a XNA powered screensaver (something that makes my PC look better and look more useful since it's on idling most of the day).
My channel is shit right now, but I'm hoping it will get better.
