Re: Where did it all begin for you?
I've never been very active on the forums, but I just had inspiration to reply to this topic.... For me, it all started when I was in elementary school. My older brother, who was in middle school at the time, had started learning HTML and was trying to make webpages. I always tried to learn what he ...

Re: John McCarthy is Dead
Damn... I looked at his wikipedia page right after I found out Dennis Ritchie died, and I felt kinda good knowing he was still around... I guess it's the beginning of the end of the lives of the early pioneers of modern computing. I am very great-full that they have contributed so much to all our l...

Re: Favourite Retro Gaming Music
All of Chrono Trigger's music is great, but I have a particular fondness for the main theme... it's just so epic. Since retro is anything before 2004, I'd have to say that Fire Emblem has the best sound track of any handheld game ever. Also, Sonic Adventure 2 had awesome music IMO (Final Hazard boss...

Re: you first video game console?
If you count handhelds, the first console I ever played was my older brother's original big grey brick gameboy. The first I ever owned was a gameboy advance, and my first console was a Gamecube. I played that gamecube night and day back in like 2003...

Wow, Falco, very informative. I always like hearing what it's actually like in college... I'll get there soon enough I suppose.

Re: Antivirus recommendations
Microsoft Security Essentials is free and it's actually very good. The only trouble I have with it is on single-core CPUs, I would say avoid it if you have a single-core CPU because it tends to take a lot of CPU usage.

The only thing I worry about is that most of the really good games for dreamcast cost a lot of money because they're "collectable" noweatcomics wrote:OMG I got one this summer... They aren't exagerating

Re: First Console?
When I was very little (and before I was born) my older siblings always wanted a game console, but my parents never complied until I was about 8, and we got a Gamecube for Christmas.
EDIT: And unlike SOME of the people above, I loved and still love the Gamecube. It's actually pretty awesome.

Re: Starcraft 2 Officially out!!
I was going to buy it, but $60 is a lot to drop on the first installment of a 3-part game. I continued scrolling down on amazon.com and saw that the original StarCraft battle chest is only $10. Having never played the original, I bought that, and it arrived yesterday.
