Agreed. I'll need to see it at least 3 more times before I can make that decision.

Re: File IO

I've been trying to learn Text File I/O for about 35 minutes total, and this is my way of grabbing a few words, now obviously this will take a lot of space. I have 8 char variables, which I think are 4 bytes each, so that adds up to 32 bytes. I'm trying to be a GBA programmer which multiplies the s...

Re: How did they make Sonic?

Sorry about the double post. I can't see myself coding in ASM, but if you want to learn C/++ I would strongly recommend learning GML (Game Maker) and Fusion 2 (MMF2). That's just how I did it. Hmmm... If I wanted to learn C/++, I would learn C/++, not GML. If you want to start with basic game devel...

Re: Audio Programming you say?

I heard from a very reputable engineer that they call it a "tremolo arm" in the UK. Arm or bar, I forget, but I'm pretty sure it was arm. In fact, when he was asked to say "whammy bar" his response was "what in the hell is a whammy bar?" no... I'm from the UK and me an...

Re: Half-Blood Prince

Also, one of my American friends says that all Americans thinks that Harry Potter is American and only filmed in England (which is complete crap) and I'm just wondering whether it's just him being stupid or Americans do actually think this. Saying all Americans, all English, all French, all anythin...

Re: Half-Blood Prince

Saw it last night. It was much much better than I had expected. Lots of little details left out of the movie but they pretty much covered all of the main points and executed it well. Definitely one of my favorites in the series so far.

...(which is a billion times better than the movies). Agreed. Books are almost always > movies. Most of the time it can't translate 100% to the screen. There are exceptions to this of course. I actually really enjoy the Harry Potter films and have found most of them to be pretty accurate to t...

Re: Half-Blood Prince

I enjoyed every Harry Potter book minus the last one. Deathly Hallows sucked ass. I will say that I thought HalfBlood Prince was my absolute favorite. I am sure looking forward to seeing this movie. The only thing that I'm concerned about is its PG rating (versus PG-13 of the rest). Halfblood Princ...

Re: Half-Blood Prince

Personally I am pretty excited. The first Harry Potter book was released when I was 7 so I really grew up with the series. I feel that the quality of the books went downhill with every release but the movies seem to be doing the opposite, just getting better and better. Ummm, whaaa? I completely di...

I don't know about audio programming languages, but we call that a Whammy Bar. And we use it for melting faces.

ESR2! *gasp*

I'll pose the same question as netwatcher. Should we include a reason why we chose either the psp or the dc?

Re: & vs. *

I see. So references are like a one woman man, while pointers don't mind jumping around from address to address.
