I had an IBM Thinkpad once. I picked it up one day and the hard drive fell out. Some how the screw that held the hard drive in broke!)
Now the laptop will not boot up except on rare occasions(probably a problem due to faulty memory segmentation)
Hopefully I will be able to replace that laptop soon:)

Could you post a screenshot of your map loading. That would help to determine the problem.
