Re: Finding Meaning in Interactive Play and Narrative
Well, I've always enjoyed "conundrums" I guess you could say. In the past (mostly in math classes), when a challenging problem was presented, I was always able to think of creative ways to solve them... That soon just expanded into Game Development. It allows me to work creatively, yet sti...

Re: Confusion
Nobody is saying you don't have a good grasp on C++, we're saying you've missed stuff that you need to go back and look at. Actually, we are saying he doesn't have a good grasp on C++, because he's missed stuff. Once he's gone over the stuff again, then he'll have an actual good grasp. Yeah, I agre...

Re: Best Practices?
As for using constructors to initialize/load, in some cases I'd say it's fine to do, but typically I have a separate initialization function. The reason being that constructors have no return value. So let's say in your initialization method, you initialize/load a bunch of stuff... Well most of that...

Re: Confusion
Originally I thought it was a constructor. What confused me was the white space between Dude and man (I do not usualy use constructors in that fashion) and you did not explain if cow earlobe etc. were instances of a class private members of that particular class or something else. Again I do unders...

Re: Confusion
Im trying to invision as to how to do that with a constructor. Dude man(cow, calf, moose, earlobe); Or are you refering to some kind of OO design? no, I'm talking about a basic part of the language. Your diagram us not telling me much, you cant have a space in your class name is this a function is ...

Re: which is faster, virtual functions or function pointers?
"If you are to use C++ then if the is a better OO alternative then use that alternative" Not going to lie, that is one of the most confusing sentences I have ever read. I can really see how people misinterpret what you mean, because your sentence structure is... To be frank... Not appeali...

Re: which is faster, virtual functions or function pointers?
But if you're going to write absolutely ANYTHING in C++ then irrelevant of the overhead produced (in my opinion) you should take full advantage of Object Oriented Programming. Too much testosterone on these boards, me thinks XD. But in all honesty, man, your on these boards, so you probably think t...

Re: which is faster, virtual functions or function pointers?
Well, I may be wrong, but I would say function pointers would be FASTER, simply because of the overhead associated with v-tables... But with that being said, I don't think it's significant enough to change from using virtual functions to function pointers...

Re: What People has got from who from?
Well... I got around $300, but, that's pretty much going to be all gone today :/... My brother got a bunch of crap for his xbox, and some money, but he's a dip and took it to a bad part of a town, and all his stuff got stolen so I have to replace it... Gay.
