My class schedule.
Next semester is going to be a school period for me. I rotate work and school (with one class during work periods).
...and boy is next semester going to SUCK. It may change due to the fact that one of the classes that I wanted is full (people may drop), but here it is at the moment:
1) Applied Differential Equations
2) Calculus C
3) Intro to Linear Algebra
4) Electrical Circuit Analysis 1
5) Electronic Measurement Lab
I am going to be dreaming of Calculus and Differential Equations. Linear Algebra sounds like the most fun of all those, that can't be a good sign.
edit: OoOoOo, I did manage to arrange it all so that I get Friday off, though. Hell yes. I daresay that I'm going to need it.

Re: My class schedule.
Ugh, good luck. I haven't heard of Calculus C. I only had to take Calc I and II.
Linear Algebra isn't too bad - it sure beats the hell outta Discrete Math I & II.

Pretty Math heavy stuff. You looking for a Math minor?
I used to hate math more than anything else until I realized that something in my head tries to break down everything into numbers.

It's mandatory for us engineers to have a math minor here. =/

Re: My class schedule.
I HATED the loads of math I had to take for my CS degree, but looking back I guess it did help my overall problem solving skills.
I think the math classes I had to take were:
Calc I & II
Physics I & II
Linear Algebra
Discrete Math I & II
Autonoma Theory
Even my Databases class was math centric ( hated that class )

Re: My class schedule.
Damn, I'm being killed this semester with a full time job (like everyone else in here probably)...
Yes, yes. Right now I HAVE NO LIFE, but its worth it
Current Semester (almost done):
Linear Algebra
Discrete Mathematical Structures 3
Adv Calculus and Vector Calculus
Data Structures 3 (pretty cake)
Operating Systems 3 (pretty fucking crazy)
Next semester (finally a break from math...) :
Compiler Construction (3 cr.)
CSc 34200 & CSc 34300: Computer Organization(3 cr.) and Computer Organization Lab(1 cr).
47200: Computer Graphics ( 3 cr.) (CS elective)
Introduction to Database Systems (3 cr.) (CS elective)
Artificial Intelligence (3 cr.) (CS elective)

Re: My class schedule.
You have a full time job ontop of being (I think) a full time student? Wow, you are a much better person than I am. I bitch when I work full time and have one class. Then I bitch when I am a full time student with no work.

Dude, I hope you have as much fun as I did in Computer Graphics. Mine was focused on realtime 3D using C++ and OpenGL.sparda wrote:47200: Computer Graphics ( 3 cr.) (CS elective)
I learned ALOT in that class.
Re: My class schedule.
Well, I unlike you (I envy you by the way Gyro) don't work in the programming industry... I have
a garbage job. i.e., I'm about to quit and concentrate on school only... As a matter of fact,
I've decided, I AM going to quit before the next semester. If they don't fire me before that, that is!
This stuff is stressing me OUT.
Maybe with the extra time, I'll apply as a pixel artist here (I've been wanted to do it, but have not time)...
that is, assuming that there are still open positions for pixel artists...
The only drawback is that I'll have to move back with my friends or my parents, which KILLS the pride
BTW.

Calc C??? i assume its the same as calc 3, that one was the easiest by far,GyroVorbis wrote:Next semester is going to be a school period for me. I rotate work and school (with one class during work periods).

as for diffeq, thats cake as long as you take notes.
linear algebra is really nice, has alot of aplications in CS.
as for the other 2, goodluck, i never was good at any of those.

Yeah, I sucked at the EE stuff. I had to build an AND/OR processor (er, something like that) on a breadboard.avansc wrote:as for the other 2, goodluck, i never was good at any of those.
Stuff made sense on paper, but when it came down to implementation, I hated dealing with a mess of wires coupled with faulty equipment.

I can have a math minor with like two more classes (am CS major). Also, hooray, all my classes next semester look to be interesting (copy-pasted!)GyroVorbis wrote:It's mandatory for us engineers to have a math minor here. =/

Re: My class schedule.
Senior Design Project sounds like fun. We didn't have a formal class for that - it was more of a design "contest" for Seniors that was sponsored by some local dev companies.

Re: My class schedule.
I have decided to man up and get my lame ass literature class out of the way.
British Lit - 3.0 credit hours.
That puts me at 17 hours this semester. I'm going to hate my life.
...but I do hope to meet fine, cultured, intellectual women in British Lit...
