Games you'd like to see remade (or demade?)

Post by Moosader »

What games would you like to see remade or demade (aka remade for a console earlier than it was put out on)?
I thought this was neat, it's an unlicensed mario ripoff for atari: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4shac02_ks

I would really love to remake Cheetahmen, Shadowgate (or a similar 1st-person dungeon crawl), and I'm kinda working on ET.

I'd love to see a Wii version of Pokemon Snap. Anyone? Or a console version of Pokemon, similar to the handheld games but with more depth.

If someone competent were behind making a new Commander Keen, it'd rock. Same for Jazz Jackrabbit. C'mon John Carmack, Cliffy B! You guys have huge companies now! Give us some classics! XD Iloveyouguyspleasemarryme

Other games I'd like to sort of make "improved fan-games" of would be Pokemon (similar game, but with more freakin depth, the same old shit is getting boring already).
And uh... lezsee. Harvest Moon has Rune Factory I guess.

Damn beat me to it :)

Anyway I had no idea you felt that way about Carmack :D

I'd also have to go with Jazz Jackrabbit(just awesome)

I'd like to see FF VII remade like that tech demo for e3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thsnDqQu0mQ

We haven't been together for a couple of months.
But yes, he knows I love John Carmack.

I have a few in mind that I'd love to see remade, but I am sort of tired with the whole FFVII thing. Sure I love the game, but I am tired of hearing about the tech demo and everything, so I can't agree lol, sorry. (time to get shunned)

Anyway, what I'd like to see remade... hmmm JUMPING FLASH. Oh yeahhhhhh. Imagine Jumping Flash for PSX on the PS3 with updated graphics. SO SWEET.

What else, hmmm I would love to see a remake of Barnstorming for the Atari 2600, too. That'd be wicked fun!

All the games I like either have sequels, have been remade, or I wouldn't want them to remake =( I'm not really a big fan of companies remaking games, unless it's done right.

That one was pretty cool =) I'll second that
I realized the moment I fell into the fissure that the book would not be destroyed as I had planned.

Yeah Jumping Flash rocked!

I also thought of another remake I'd like... Any of the Valis games form the Genesis! That'd be great!

(I wish I could program 3D or I'd put my hand in making a Valis remake...)

hrmmm, interesting...

I'll keep thinking, but the first two that came to mind were Mike Tyson's Punch-Out! and Killer Instinct.

EDIT: I'd love to see a modern, 2.5D version of Metroid. The FPS Metroids are good, but they've got nothing on Super Metroid!

EDIT 2.0: Just thought of a couple more from the Genesis days - Comix Zone and Vector Man.

Comix Zone is one of the coolest games on the Genesis, although that system was made of pure win.

I remember Comix Zone was used as the poster child for the Sega Channel.... I'd love to see a 3D beat-em-up of it!

Agreed.

Trufun, Golvellius isn't on your list? ;)

I don't know about remakes, but Monkey island needs a sequel, there's a large comedy adventure game shaped hole im my life. And Sonic needs a proper 2D sequel, no werehog, no retarded extra characters. Just Sonic, Tails, Robotnik and some loop-de-loops.

I believe a Wii remake just came out.

Yes, but only if Ron Gilbert has the rights. :S Curse of Monkey Island was pretty good despite him not working for LA anymore, but I remembering Escape from Monkey Island sucking.

Also, I've been getting into some of Yahztee's games (Zero Punctuation), which are mostly adventure. They're pretty well made, though more horror than comedy. I would like to see another adventure game in the vein of the old funny Lucas Arts ones.
Out of Order was a pretty good freeware adventure game with some humor.

YOU'RE NO REAL GAME DEVELOPER! I'VE FOUND YOU OUT!

Everybody knows game developers love the opportunity for a shameless plug.

GOD YES.

I would perhaps add Ristar to that list. Most of you probably have no idea what that is...

I remember Ristar coming out, but I never played it... The graphics kinda remind me of Rayman, and for the Genesis that's damn impressive.
