you people i think have a missconception about ignorance and not being intelligent.
also, just because you have awards and have a high GPA does not mean you are intelligent.

i also find it interesting that when i say "most atheists think they are more intelligent than what they really are"
you people assume i mean to say that they are unintelligent. its not a black and white issue. and i think you guys are projecting a little bit.

"I at least know how to work hard and study to figure out things I need to know. I definitely can't be classified as Stupid."

thats just an opinion im sorry to say. stupidity and intelligence have nothing to do with each other. inteligent people make stupid mistakes/choices.

lastly i find it even more interesting that you instantly "attack" Christianity by saying "Show me a Christian more intelligent than Carmack and I'll eat my Snorlax hat." (and yeas that is an indirect attack in defence of my statement about atheists.) you could have said, "Show me a person who believes in a god who is more intelligent than Carmack and I'll eat my Snorlax hat." anyways.

most atheists definitely think they are more intelligent than what they really are, and your responses prove it, and its because they have a GOD complex, ironically enough, just read LusikkaMage's post and its evident.

I disagree, its everyone who believes they are right and completely ignore everyone's beliefs that are not their own to be less intelligent than them. That may or may not make sense.

Basically, atheist's who laugh at the fact that many people believe in a God of some kind and think they are smarter than those people, are ignorant. But so are the extreme religious people who refuse to respect anyone elses beliefs. I know some very smart atheists, and I know some very smart Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, and I am sure a few else from other religions that I just don't know their religious beliefs. My point is that anyone who relates religion to intelligence is themselves stupid.
i hope you don't imply that i did that. atheism is not a religion. and if anything the atheists on this post made that distinction.

this is not a religion topic, or at least i didnt make it that. Atheism is not a religion.
i just stated the most atheists think they are more intelligent than what they really are,
then that obviously hurt some ego's and then it got turned to a religious thing.

Oh no, I wasn't directing that towards you at all. I just wanted to add that to what you said, I think your completely in the green. Its just people that think anyone else's beliefs are stupid piss me off, and because of that I have decided to keep my religious views to myself with a few exceptions. My Dad is the same way I guess, I don't even know if he is religious or not for sure. Whenever I ask him he says that he doesn't want to influence my religious beliefs and that he thinks I should find my own way there.

Ah yes, the old "Good grades does not equal intelligence."
I think book smarts, and the ability to actually study and retain knowledge, is a form of intelligence.
I think the ability to live and make good decisions also makes you intelligent.

Though even by those standards, does it mean you're really intelligent if you live well?
I find it hard to quantify intelligence without adding into the picture a work ethic and rationalism as well.

Unfortunately I tend to address Christians when I'm venting about people as I've never had a Jewish person act like I'm an abomination and stupid because I am who I am. Christians are the only types that really seem to take the "Love everyone" preaching as "Fuck everyone else up their ass".

Actually, there are A LOT of "Christians" that act this way. You believe what we believe, or fuck off, etc. etc.

Youch. :(

It's true though, Christian parents do home school their kids more. My friend who's dad is a Pastor, was home schooled until high school. All his brothers and sisters were home schooled, and there was this big group of kids that get together that were home schooled from the church, it's like an exclusive club! @_@

Out of curiosity, is Avansc a Christian, or some other religion?
Because I'm betting on the former.

i didnt infer you were stupid, and neither did i say you were an abomination, and i am a christian.

"and the ability to actually study and retain knowledge, is a form of intelligence." yes i agree its a form of intelligence. monkeys and other animals can perform this activity as well. whether that makes you have above average intelligence. mmmm.. i dont think so.

"I think the ability to live and make good decisions also makes you intelligent." mmm.. that has nothing to do with intelligence.
the folks who made the A-Bomb were very inteligent, but made very bad decisions... you get what im getting at.

intelligence cannot be quantified or qualified by measuring your successes, your life style, your rational.
for example. even the most intelligent of people fall in love. and we know how rational people are when they are in love.

i dont know how to quantify intelligence, but i just have found a trend that most atheists believe they are more intelligent than what they are.

I really find it fascinating that you guys(atheists) took my words:
"I've noticed that most atheist think they are more intelligent than what they really are."

and somehow took out that that i was inferring you are unintelligent, maybe you should take a logic class, i think that might help.

anyways. a true christian would not think any less of you because of your beliefs. i certainly dont.

anyways. this is over with. there is nothing to come of this.

I could not imagine jumping on the public schooling train in High School. That is definitely brutal. I'm not saying High School is hell, but there is a lot about public schooling that would be nice to be exposed to slowly at a younger age in grade school.
