I find it interesting(?) that you make a statement that cannot be quantified or proven, then.

Because I'm betting on the former.
yes, i am a christian.

however, i dont think less of you because you dont share my beliefs.
or think you are stupid because of your beliefs.
my best friend is an atheist. i accept people for who they are.

but that does not mean that im not entitled to my opinion.
and it also does not mean, just because i have a negative opinion about some
atheists(in respect to their own delusions about their intelligence), that some
how i have that negative opinion because i am a christian. (if someone thinks that they are STUPID or more likely just angry at God/Christians)

religion has nothing to do with this.

let me ask you something.

if there are two rooms, that are different temperatures, do you have to have a thermometer to establish which one is colder?

Well you sure didn't phrase it in a 'friendly' light.

I keep hearing Christians say they accept other for who they are and don't judge, but somehow the ones I run into in real life must all be "fake" Christians as I'm always trying to be converted, put down, and questioned (not a bad thing in and of itself, but answering them never seems to get anywhere).

im an asshole and i'll be the first to admit that. but i dont look down on people because of their belief systems. and i find it ridicules that just because im a christian that my religion gets drag into it when i have something to say about something/someone thats not even related to religion that rubs them the wrong way... its almost pathetic.

I could not imagine jumping on the public schooling train in High School. That is definitely brutal. I'm not saying High School is hell, but there is a lot about public schooling that would be nice to be exposed to slowly at a younger age in grade school.
Nah, the kid had heard of me, and came up to me all shy like "Hey, are you Andy K?" "yea?" "My name is Jason"

And we hit it off and he is like my best bro now, I kept him under my wing freshman year.

With all that Christianity and structure he had growing up, it's pretty funny that he's in a rehab now! I talked to him the other day, he has to go to A.A. meetings and everything.

So you don't judge people based on religion, you only make generalizations about them.
You're a tolerant and "real" Christian, but self-proclaimed asshole. Or do you just use that as a cover-up whenever someone calls you out for being such, like it magically makes it OK and you a "badass" to be respected?

Not to mention, we were all having a merry time talking about traditions and whatnot, and that was all you had to say. I don't see anything particularly offensive or anything that warranted that comment period, you were just being a bitter stick in the mud.

So sit down, shut the fuck up, and tell us about your Christmas traditions, mr. asshole (his words!)~ <3

no i dont judge people based on what they believe, nor do think im better for being a christian.
honey, just because someone is a christian does not mean they are jesus. and just because i
have a point of view that obviously makes you get a fanny whobble, that does not some how it imply
that im a bad christian. and i dont think you are stupid, however i do think you have certain complexes
and it is utterly clear that you have animosity towards christians.

if i had said "I've noticed that most PEOPLE think they are more intelligent than what they really are."

you would not have given two shits about it(even though you still could fall under most people), but that just proves your hipocracy,
once i said atheist... ooghhh noo. i must be one of those evil bad Christians. you are the only that makes generalizations.

and its clear that you think you are more intelligent that whatyou actually are:

"You're a tolerant and "real" Christian, but self-proclaimed asshole. Or do you just use that as a cover-up whenever someone calls you out for being such, like it magically makes it OK and you a "badass" to be respected?"

you assume that you have somehow called me out on something and that you cornered me into admitting something.
i just stated that i am an asshole. asshole does not mean bad christian. asshole in my case means i say whats on my mind and i dont sugar coat it.

the funny think is, if i had said something like

"most Christians think they are more righteous than what they really are".

well.... im sure you would not have gotten so defensive en wiped your dick out for measurement.

I'm going to avoid the religious thing and clarify some terms thanks to D&D

"ability to actually study and retain knowledge"
That's intelligence

"ability to live and make good decisions."
That's wisdom

And as for the topic,
LusikkaMage wrote: 1) I know some of us are Atheists... did you celebrate Christmas as a kid? Do you now? Do you plan on doing so in the future when you had kids?
Yes, yes, and yes.
2) Did your parents "let"/"make" you believe in Santa as a kid? Would you to your own?
Let, yes.
3) What sorta things do you do for your Decemberween holiday?
My family kind of sucks and we open gifts then go about our day.
Pretty much that. My mom makes a ham but nothing really elaborate, in contrast to Thanksgiving.

This discussion has not only spiraled off-topic, but also seems to be leading nowhere. I'm not the boss of anyone, but please people, try to keep it civilized eh? This is, obviously, a touchy subject, and name calling etc. is not going to contribute to a healthy or useful discussion.

Go ahead.

My case still stands, we were having a nice little discussion and you decided to interrupt with something completely uncalled for and unnecessary. We were just sharing that, even though a lot of us are NOT religious, we still celebrate Christmas.
Somehow, this rubbed you the wrong way and you had to lash out.

And I fail to see how being an asshole makes you a good ANYTHING. Christian, person, whatever. In my mind, an asshole is someone that has no regard for anybody else, and will go out of their way to cause problems.
Just as you have done, by shitting in my thread FOR NO REASON.

And I have absolutely no idea what a fanny whobble is.
