i had a staffordshire bull terrier, it pooed outside when it needed to(without calling me), i taught it to get itself food and water. we had one of those dispensers that you pused a button and food + water came out, (they were independent), and it slept in its own bed.

i could leave it for a month and it was fine. id call that independent.

thats what it looked like.

That's a bad thing to do to a dog. A dog needs companionship either with another animal or human =\

maybe american queer dogs.

we had other dogs as well.
and its not like i did that alot, only when i left the country. once a year maybe.

dogs are animals first, pets second.

dont get me wrong, i loved my dog, and it lived to be 17 human years. i got it when i was 3 and it grew up with me.
but dogs arent suppose to be vetted all the time, and be told that they are doing a good job when the poop. (god i hate when poeple talk to their dogs like they are babies) dogs are tough animals and dont need to be pampered.

woah woah, I didn't imply that you didn't love your dog! I would never imply something like that about animals! I was just saying is dogs run in packs. Dogs can become withdrawn from being left alone for a long time, even violent. I wasn't talking about your dog specifically! I was just saying in general... I'm sure you loved your dog very much!
