Re: GLOBAL WARMING???
Global warming.. Could be. The Polar ice is melting (according to many sources) and I believe it's some kind of planetary cycle with addition of only slightly man made effect.
Re: GLOBAL WARMING???
well i have done some research, and the hockey stick graph that the man made global warming theorist are showing is the biggest fallacy.
i also discovered that global warming is a multi billion dollar industry, and if the politicians can say its humans fault they can line their pockets with fat cash.
also i read that they dug up ice cores from thousands of years ago. and it seems that the eatch just has a normal cycle. i personally dont think people can influence anything on a global level.

How is anyone making money off of it? If anything it is hurting the country's economy.avansc wrote:well i have done some research, and the hockey stick graph that the man made global warming theorist are showing is the biggest fallacy.

Re: GLOBAL WARMING???
Well, I believe in global warming, but even if it doesn't exist, some of the measures we take when we try to prevent it, would be beneficial even if it were simply made up.
Think about it, nice clean, quiet cars, which don't consume fossil fuels, and don't give off pollutants
Power stations that don't give off smoke, factories not contributing to the smoke, causing smog. (we've all seen beijing on the tv, even if global warming doesnt exist, should anyone have to live like that?)
I think that we need a natural threat to make us change, but the fact is, even if Global Warming was ficticious, we would be making the planet better for everyone, so we really should be concentrating on making our lives better, as opposed to being forced to make changes to save ourselves.

I think I can program pretty well, it's my compiler that needs convincing!

And now a joke to lighten to mood :D
I wander what programming language anakin skywalker used to program C3-PO's AI back on tatooine? my guess is Jawa :P

thats all fine and well, and i think we need as people to be more responsible.programmerinprogress wrote:Well, I believe in global warming, but even if it doesn't exist, some of the measures we take when we try to prevent it, would be beneficial even if it were simply made up.

but not that long ago. the earth had thousands of active volcanoes, that spewed more CO2 out than humand ever can dream of doing, and hey, the planet is fine.
i think global warming exsist, theres really no way to deny it. but its not caused by humans, its a natural cycle.
and i think global warming has become a ploy to make money. and that sickens me.

Re: GLOBAL WARMING???
Not that I really have a viewpoint one way or the other, but I would like to point out that one might argue that the planet is not so fine, if said person can build a "not so fine" argument now because that CO2 spew was supposed to stop when those volcanoes did, but we're maintaining a minimum level of CO2 spew that is higher than natural minimum level of CO2 spew, so we're damaging the planet in the same way that a leaky faucet raises the water bill -- turn the water off, and you expect the bill to stop rising, but if the faucet is leaky...avansc wrote:but not that long ago. the earth had thousands of active volcanoes, that spewed more CO2 out than humand ever can dream of doing, and hey, the planet is fine.
I realized the moment I fell into the fissure that the book would not be destroyed as I had planned.

The fact that it's the ignorance that allows this kind of business, not some evil trick, sickens me.avansc wrote:..and i think global warming has become a ploy to make money. and that sickens me.
