Okay, here is every aspect of my game. But first, some screenz so far:
In this screen shot, please notice the HUD. I'd like feed back on that. In the final game, it will not have the same things on it it has now, and just after I took this screen shot, I added a Blue guage next to your health, showing your shield points. Oh well.
I took this screen shot so that you could see a health kit falling. It spawns at a random x coordinate in a random time between 5 seconds and 30seconds. Right now, for debug purposes, I have them spawn when I push tab and q at the same time. Also, there is an error, when you pause, the timer that spawns the health kit keeps going, so it'll probably fall the instant you unpause. I can EASILY fix that, but I haven't yet for some reason.
Please notice two things in this screen shot, the green shield and the enemies with green life guages. A while back, I postd about needing someone to edit my enemies' colors, and, of course, no one volunteered. That'd only figure. Asshole graphics people. Anyway, the reason I have a differnt color life guage is to show that that enemy is stronger than the red one, rather than 20 life like the red ones, it has 50, and it can shoot decoy bullets. (I'll explain those later). And, yes, that ugly green circle around the charactor IS a shield. You can only get a shield when you get to a certain level, and from there on you'll always have it. (It saves.) How I have it do this by making that ugly dos looking text box appear as soon as you start the game, and it asks your name. If there is a .tcr in a certain folder with the name of the thing you typed in, it'll load wether or not you had a shield. If it cannot find a file named whatever you typed in, it'll just tell you to type in the same name you just did to load, and creates a file with that name. Also, whatever name you typed in is what name is used when you get the hi score, low score, and the name on the top of the screen. Anyway, your shield points, (above the ugly red life guage) is how much more damage you shield will reduce before breaking. When it breaks, it simply turns off. It atomattically restores shield points, 1 every 4 or so seconds it adds 1 point. I am going to make it refill faster when you get to a certain level, like an upgrade, but i haven't yet.
Again, take not of two things here. (No, me cowering in the corner isn't a thing.) See the Blue enemies? I am planning to have them in the future, but I don't yet. I just changed the red guy's colors for this screen shot. Now you know what to expect. The seond thing is how everything is red. I have it so if your life is 10 or under, you enter red alert mode. Everything blinks red and plays a siren, telling you that you're about to die. I want to know if you think I should keep that in.
Okay, look right above the player. See that orb looking think? That is the smallest bullet you shoot. If you shoot an enemies bullet, yours and his bullets will both explode. So I decided to make the green dudes (In the picture they are blue just so you know what to expect!) shoot little decoy bullets. Above and slightly to the left of the player's bullet there is a red circle with a white center. That is a harmless decoy bullet the green guy shoots, if your bullet hits it, both of them explode. If it hits you, nothing happens. The enemyis able to fire one decoy every 2 seconds, and fires it only when a bullet it comming toward it. You know what I mean? It does NOT fire every 2 seconds, every 2 seconds it GAIN the ability to fire. Then, after it fires when a bullet is near it, the ablilty to fire is gone. It must wait 2 seconds before it regains the ability.
Once again, I changed my red guys blue....Okay, I thought I was better than I was, and did not mean to go into red alert mode. The purpose of this screen is to show how large the bullets are now, showing that there will be other weapons. I have various weapons planned, like laser, exploding bullets, ect., but I oonly have 2 now, small bullet plasma gun, and huge bullet plasma gun. Small bullet does 5, huge bullet does 20.
this is simply showing that you're dead. I haven't anything else fancy yet. Too bad.
Anyway, it's exactly 12:00 midnight, and I'm tired. I'll speak more of my game tomorrow.

Aside from your attrocious inability to spell, this is awesome.
The red alert thing lags his computer to HELL (see his specs in NEStix).
We need somebody like JS Lemming to test it because that's probably what most people will be packing. If it lags JSL out, then kill it.
Like I've mentioned before, I don't like the fact that the enemies spawn at random places. So like if I'm moving when one spawns, it can come out of nowhere and I will be hit. That's pretty unfair. Make them spawn only at the top.

Today wa sthe most pitifully BORING day EVER. All i did was do my little brother's home work, and do crap on the computer. After doing it for sooo many hours, yes, even the comp. got a bit boring today. x.x
I added in a whole new enemy, not just a differnt color life guage, but a whole new enemy. I'll post a screen soon.
Anyway, my dad was in his office doing his colledge assigment, wich was to make a few differnt programs in FORTAN. I was so bored that i mimiced him in Blitz, and made a fahrenheit to celcious and back converter, a Bacterial reproduction predictor, and, finally, a gay thing that is supposed to calculate the horizontal force of a train when given the radious of the track, the speed in MPH, and the Train's weight. That one didn't go so well. He hasn't made his yet, and I'm ready to goto bed, so I cannot compare mine to his. I used a t1 calculator, and compared it to my program, and they both got differnt answers. I used the windows calculator, and it had the same answer as the t1 calculator, meaning my program's screwed. But i don't see where! Here it is, for anyone that isn't an ass and will help me:
the assigment is:Calculate the horizontal force given the following:
Weight: 405.7 tons MPH: 30.5 Radious of curve: 2005.33 feet
The equation is: FORCE = [(WEIGHT x 2000)/32] x [(MPH x 1.4667)^2/radious]
I have no clue what's wrong. My program gives 24442 as the answer. Man that pisses me off, just knowing that my worthless program that will never be used in my life doesn't work! ARGGGG!

The bright repeated blinkyness might get annoying :)
You might consider adding a $ system and a shop in which to purchase upgrades between levels? I'm always one for buy-your-own-upgrades vertical scrollers :)

I realized the moment I fell into the fissure that the book would not be destroyed as I had planned.
That is seriously what I was planning to do, LOL! I was considering it, but now I know I'm doing it for sure. And yes, I have had complaints about the redness. I honestly liked it, but I guesss other's didn't. So It's gone.
Also, this is a HUGE question that's DRASTICALLY affect the game play: Should I keep it as it is, you can move anywhere, but if you bump into certain enemies, it'll kill them and hurt you; or where you can only go left and right and there is no chance of bumping into enemies?
Sice I posted, I added a new weapon: Laser. Right now I consider it too strong. I am considering making it one of the last weapons you get, or trying to make it weaker, which seems to not be working.
I need to post a scrren soon of that new weapon and the newest enemies. Also, I thought the newest enemies were hard, but not that bad. Like a boss type thing should be. When I let kids at school play my games, they could not get there without using my de-bug features to cheat, let alone beat it. I Wish someone here could test it. x.x

And SS, when was last time you played it? I figured out that making the redness a 4 x 4 image that is tiled lags it to hell, and made it 64 x 64, which is TOTALLY lag free, even on my computer.
Also, today I learned what a .BAT file was. (Poor me, I didn't know! x.x). With my new batch file skillz, I am thinking about making a .bat named: DON'T CLICK HERE! and putting it on my enemy's computer, and he's so dumb, he'd click. When he does, it would net send the whole county under HIS name, and, to complete the scheme, I'd make the file delete itself. Thanks to Super Sonic and some random helpful sites, I learned a LOT about .BAT's.
Anyway, I'm going to see what I can do about that screen shot. Bai for now.

I am at school, and I realize that I forgot to post those screen. Before I do, I'd like to thank anyone that replies to ANYTHING under this topic. Please, tell me what you think:
My melting like 8 enemies at once. As I said, the laser is currently too powerful. I want it to like delete 0.2 from the enmies health instead of 1, which would basically fix it, but for some reason it won't work!

This topic is really sad, all it really is is me talking to myself -- Anyway, here's what I've achieved since my last post:
I got a not so smart ally working, that moved TOTALLY randomly and shoots. I was playing with him, and he actually helped some. e.e My objective is to make him better and smarter. But with NEStix going on, I doubt anyone cares. For those who DO care, here's a screen shot, supposing Super Sonic wasn't too lazy to upload it:
Yeah, compared to all the other game graphics, the ally does look pretty crappy. Thanks to our graphical artists, I must do with what I have.
Anyway, maybe with an ally AND a better weapon I can kill those really heard enemies in the screen? yes, I did kill them, yay for me.

Marauder suggested a GREAT idea to me today. He said that maybe I should make everything smaller, so there would be more room for stuff and to manuever. I think that's an awsome idea. However, It does make everyythig look....You know, how things look when you shrink them. I would post a screen, but I know Super Sonic's lazy ass won't upload them. Aanyway, can SOMEONE PLEASE tell me what they think about it being small?
Also Marauder Gave my good idea for a H.U.D. reformat. I'm going to start working on that soon.

Laser -- make it fire one short shot ahead, like a beam weapon, and have a longer 'reload' or somethin'? Don't make it go through stuff either. That'll weaken it for you :)
