Website & Affiliates...
Feels like I'm posting way too much. :P
Anyways, I'm hoping to update my website layout again during spring break, and one thing that definitely needs fixing-up is my links section. I want to put an "affiliates" section, with other game devs' pages.
So... instead of sifting through profiles and such... what is j00r websitez?!
Also, I'm thinking of doing my website in sort of a "Japanese page for a JRPG" style. What I mean by this is usually there's some fancy artwork for the main page, none of the pages take up more than a screen (so no scrolling, though I'd have to figure out how to organize my links and games pages). Also, each game would have it's own "theme".
Kind of what I was thinking of: http://www.square-enix.co.jp/mana/
Except no Flash

Re: Website & Affiliates...
I think you already had my site as an affliate (at least it was the last time I checked), but to clarify, It would be a pleasure to be affiliated with moosader.com, so count me in!
As for my website, I know it hasn't actually been updated much lately, but that's mainly due to my workload, so once I get my current project finished, I will update a few things, and everything will be dandy
Good luck with getting more links!

Need ES graffix plzthx
Elly Shadohz guyz! I'm working on my links page, and each link will have a little thumbnail image to go along with it, but I can't get a good image for ES. The clean images still have sonic and stuff, and the ones that are recorded via camera look pewp. The thumbnail is 150x75, care to throw together a few ground tiles and put a player sprite on it, and let me use for your guys' link?

Nah, I don't really pay attention to peoples' websites, which is why I started this thread. ;P

Step 3: ??? ... Step 4: Profit.
1. Make Tutorials
2. Make Website
3. ????
4. Profit
So I've been thinking of putting up a store of somesort on my site, but not all that sure what to have.
Mainly thinking of doing some plushies based on my game characters, like Rawr, Stick, Purple Kitty, random other things.
Materials = $3/yd of fleece, $?? for shipping.
I was also thinking of investing in either a printer that prints CDs, or a lightscribe burner and other fancy things to sell packaged packs of games. :P
I'm thinking like classic PC game sort of packages, with nice manuals, boxes, etc. I have no idea how I'd get the boxes, though. >_>
Maybe just nice manual and case. :P
And then there's the XNA plot... I have a half-done Pickin' Sticks getting stale on my harddrive, but writing ports of PS and Rawr Rinth, and maybe Lenxion seem to be the most appealing to me, but at the same time also take way more work than the other two.
(I should probably also start on a new IP so I don't become the Nintendo of... semi-popular youtube developers o_x OR SHOULD I?! COW SPLODE TENNIS! LENXION KART! RAWR FIT!)
Thoughts?

Re: Website & Affiliates...
Interesting, I kinda like the Moosader store idea. I'd buy a boxed copy of Pickin' Sticks or Lenxion - especially if they came with a plushie! That's just cool.
As far as the XNA thing goes, I've been told not to expect much in terms of sales, but we'll see. My XNA version of Bop N' Pop is done (minus the graphics ) and I plan to launch it in the next month or so. I'll let you know if I have any margin of success.

Re: Website & Affiliates...
I'd totally buy a plushie.
Packs of games are awesome too. I bought a copy of "This is a Cry for Help" right when I saw the trailer, it's definitely a good idea: http://www.edmundm.com/
I've recently become obsessed with iPhone/iPod games, and really want to buy a G5 so I can make them.

Yeah, I'm thinking of eventually investing in an iPod (as I don't need a phone x_x) so I can devvy for it.aamesxdavid wrote:I'd totally buy a plushie.
