Re: New Gyromite
Sometimes, coding this thing is like picking at an open wound. This game will be me rambling on about some thing or another that doesn't matter. It's never planned or remotely thought out. There's a problem, I solve the problem. I'm just waiting for the solutions to compound and cause epic failure.
A new video, music is added after recording.
My logic is highly dependent on the framerate. If framerate is normal everything works as it should, else who knows what will happen. I know, terrible right? BTW, Hector can't die yet... as you will see above.

I agree. The best art I can do is Final Fantasy character sprites. Anything else I try to do normally ends up looking terrible.GyroVorbis wrote:Wow, that looks really good, dude. I'm so impressed by your art, it looks super professional, not like programmer art.
I'll make your software hardware.
Re: New Gyromite
I seriously rofled at "wtf my ignorant framerrate doesn't know any better"!!! XDDD
That is fucking NICCE! I like how it stretches the sprite when being crushed, and music was badass. But seeing him fly was just too much! XD
Congrats, and great job. Goddamn this has come a LOONG way. It really is nice to see you back into devving and away from the mechanical engineering shit. The tractor will fix itself!! (oh snap, I did just go there!)
Favorited, 5 stars. That's nice. Also, I need to look into whatever graphical api you said you're using.

Thanks Arce! Mechanical Engineering really is some boring shit I tell you what. But I got about 2-3 more years of it before I can make bank and build my underwater hotels. You know how it is.

Any new progress with this? I loved playing this game with my friends and it's cool to see someone remaking it.

Some internal things, nothing showable. I haven't had time to do much unfortunately.

Well I look forward to future developments. Your project inspired me to made a quick 3D model of Professor Hector. It's not textured yet but I may create a thread in game design and post some images. I'll be lurking.

On these forums the only thing a sticky means is that you need to get your ass to work.OrinCreed wrote:Ah the coveted sticky. Well earned.GyroVorbis wrote:Stickied, dear old friend.

Yeah. If you're stickied, then you have the official obligation to this community to finish your project. You're high profile now! And besides, we both know I introduced you to Gyromite! It's still my childhood favorite (and where I came up with GyroVorbis).
Oh, those were the days...

You win at everything forever. The game is awesome and the music is damn catchy. I've had some good times playing with friends and taking the controls of Prof Vector as P2. I'm still looking for a ROB that's in good shape though,GyroVorbis wrote:Yeah. If you're stickied, then you have the official obligation to this community to finish your project. Re: New Gyromite
Hector is animated now. Not worth a video.
I think I'll add a new type of pipe. Yellow. You can't control it, it's time based. Like it extends for a sec then retracts for a sec or something. It could make for some interesting puzzles.
