Moderator: Talkative People
Forum Personas
I read this interesting article on forum personalities here. I'll admit, I've fallen into a couple of the said roles mentioned.
Definitely has made me much more conscience about the way I present myself in forums, and the like.
My favorites are:
The Moderator: (Like Marauder)
The Antagonizer: (Like avansc)
Smarty Pants: (Like M_D_K for sure , myself, Avan, Falcy, Mar, and probably a bunch of others here at the forums as well) )
Johnny One-Word: (Like some guy who bitched about Java to me once: i.e. "No you can't")
AntiGayNizer: (Like Trask )
Okay, so the last one was not one word, but it still conveyed the same attitude.
Anyway, I think its a funny and worthwhile (albeit short) read for anyone interested.

Dear god, they actually ported ES to a piece of celery!MarauderIIC wrote:You know those people that are like "CHECK IT OUT I just made Linux run on this piece of celery [or other random object]!!"? Yeah, that's Falco, but with ES.

Ah, but I'm not self-appointed :)
I realized the moment I fell into the fissure that the book would not be destroyed as I had planned.

First, consider your arrogant remark and inexpertness in the subject, and second, don't label me. Ever.

Heh, very biased stereotypes, unfortunately true in many cases.

I was left wondering if there was anyone left after those labels.

Re: Forum Personas
What do you mean? I'm curious.I was left wondering if there was anyone left after those labels.
If you mean someone incredibly untalented, then yes: probably the guy you bitched at me and said: "No you can't"

I meant that you can put everyone into one of those buckets. And all those buckets are described in a negative light. Are there any positive contributors to a board? Not according to this guy, in my opinion.sparda wrote:What do you mean? I'm curious.
But hey, it's a satirical piece.

Re: Forum Personas
Which one would you put me in? I didn't really see any that would fit quite a few people here. Maybe I'm too nice.MarauderIIC wrote:I meant that you can put everyone into one of those buckets. Well dandy, I see you as a cross between the peacekeeper, and maybe antagonizer
Oh, and sorry that I overlooked you Trask. You have been placed in the best category.
I think the smoothest non-drama-causing personality in here, has got to be Arce. That BIOTCH has nothing on him. Well, maybe the (FAKE) Falco-Arce girlfriend drama, but other than that, no negative personality.
Anyway, gotta get back to my circuit design project ladies, later.
PS: (Yes, a CS major fucking with circuits!)
For the curious: I have to build a 2^3 counter using only JK-flip flops; hardcore!

Re: Forum Personas
That's what the government wants you to think. They put a "satirical piece" on the web for people to see, and pretty soon everyone is categorizing people in this way. Once they have their foot in the door, they can finish brainwashing you however they see fit.MarauderIIC wrote:I meant that you can put everyone into one of those buckets.
Sorry, I just haven't seen any Conspiracy Theorists around here. Thought I'd try to fill the spot.
The novice realizes that the difference between code and data is trivial. The expert realizes that all code is data. And the true master realizes that all data is code.

Well I'm clearly not doing a very good job as peacekeeper, because Mar somehow still found an excuse to ban me.sparda wrote:Well dandy, I see you as a cross between the peacekeeper, and maybe antagonizer
