But i added in lives, so you hav e 3 lives. Go me~!;)

You can simply use the get key function (returns ASCII) and store them in a string. Easy as one two corn.
You could just give the peeps some invincibilty time after they get hit, like they flash for a second or two.Tp prevent it from reducing your HP every time it goes through the loop, I'd have to make it push you backwards, If I did that, then it might push you into an eenmy, bullet, ect. Or, it may try and push you off screen, then a differnt part of the program owuld push you back on, into an enemy..

Arce's Development
Okay, I have a few things I need you to get straight. As the name of this topic inplys, this is ARCE'S development, NOT YOURS. this is MY topic to dwell in. If I choose to brag to myself here, YOU will not complain, at least not here. If my screen shots look like shit, you either say, "Those look awsome!', or you STFU. If I spell TOTALLY incorrectly, you say nothing. Also, calling names directly or indirectly to me will not be tollerated.
Okay, now that we've settled that, time to tell EVERYTHING about my game so far.....Well, in an hour I will, I'm lazy.

I've previously stated that I'm sick of your use of substandard homebrewn emoticons such as o.O which should clearly be "Watiff" :watiff:
For that, I condemn you to forum dirtbag! :flamedevil:

I wouldn't shrink the images if it meant having to redo them. But you could try making the bullets look more like actuall bullets or energy pulses. I don't think triangles suit the game.
EDIT
Whoops... i think this was an answer to a post a long time ago.. o well.

Maybe if you'd play a demo and not just judge my game by WAY outdated screen shots, you'd know they aren't "triangles." There are rotating green cones.I wouldn't shrink the images if it meant having to redo them. But you could try making the bullets look more like actuall bullets or energy pulses. I don't think triangles suit the game.
But seriously, should I change them? Because Gyrovorbis is too lazy to upload them, I cannot show you screens, but there are 4 types of enemies with 4 differnt weapons. It's not like all any enemydoes is drop little cones. x.x

1/8th speed - 110mph

Okay. BUT, what is ascii? Can you please give me an example of using it?Lemming Said wrote:You can simply use the get key function (returns ASCII) and store them in a string. Easy as one two corn.

And, about the invinsibility I decided it best that it DOES do damage 30 times a second to you, and that's not the problem. It'll push you backwards ONLY when your velocity is > or < 0, and if you're NOT moving, and the enemy bumps you, he goes right through you! I dunno what to do to fix it. Maybe I should give up on making it so you can "grind" into the enmeies?

ASCII is just the standard definition of characters, dealing with values from 0 to 255 that is. Random examples would be...
65 = 'A'
116 = 't'
94 = '^'
Now a string is just a chunk of bytes (or values ranging from 0-255) where certain values equal certain characters. Based on the ASCII.

Try making one of those if statements check for equality also. Like if your velocity is >= or < 0 then blaa blaa blaa.It'll push you backwards ONLY when your velocity is > or < 0, and if you're NOT moving, and the enemy bumps you, he goes right through you!
