I completely concur with that idea. You're going to make it every bit and more badass than the original was.

Take your time, JS Lemming. Thanks to MDK being a lazy ass, I won't be able to give you the recognition that you deserve with our fancy news system if you update yet. ;)

Now I can mask my laziness with MDK's laziness. :)

Or maybe you could write something up so that we can start a queue so we can be like, "M_D_K!! PEOPLE ARE READY TO USE THIS WHERE IS IT"
I realized the moment I fell into the fissure that the book would not be destroyed as I had planned.

I don't negotiate with E-Terrorists :lol:

And just so everyone knows...
I'm working on it

I'm also starting to understand exactly what Falco deals with when he has over 1500 people bitch at him(it's not very pleasant)

Don't sweat it. I'm not really in a hurry to update.

EDIT: Actually, I have a new video uploaded but I have it set to private for now.

As I think I've mentioned before, I've been storing stage data as ascii in a .gyro file like:

Code: Select all

==............*.......|||.....v.v......................."....."....v."......."......
."*H.**.|.*||.|.*.....|||.....v.v........v...v...v......".vvv."....v."......."......
.===vvvv|B#||.|..Rhhh.|v......v.v........v...v...v......".vvv."....v."..............
."..Rvvv|v*|*.|*****..|v......B.R........R...B...R......"=BRB="....v.=========......
."...Rvv|v.|..|*****.|vv..hhhR...Bhhh........*.....................R="..."..........
."....Rv|vR=R=R=R==*.|vB....*..|..*......hhB...Bhh....|....*....|........Bhhhhhh....
.".....R|#v"v"v.v..*.|v...hhhB.|.Rhhh.......|.........|===RBR===|...................
."*.|*|||.v"v".....*.|B.|.....R|B...........|B........|.".vvv.".|........*..........
.===|...##..v........|.B|.....v|v...........|v........|.".vvv."=====.....Rhhhhh=====
."**.#...#...hhB...Bhh.v|.....v|v...|.****..|v........|."....."...."....."....."....
#######..##..##########v|.....v|v...|##############################"....."....."####
###########..##########v############################################.....".....#####
Unfortunately, I've found that this design will limit stage creation in some ways. Like not allowing for poles or dynamite where pipes are originally at rest among other things. This annoys me.

So I will most likely store stages in xml form (help gyrovorbis, I'm turning into that old bald man at the book store). I'm thinking TinyXML. Maybe have stuff like:

Code: Select all

<pipe x="3" y="1" type="vertical" length="4" color="blue" />
It's a lot less efficient but sometimes you just gotta be like that. We'll see.
