Megaman 2 - Is there something wrong with me?
Megaman 2 makes me want to cry.
There must be something seriously wrong with my gaming skills (no surprise there) because I am getting my ass kicked by floating shrimp and giant devil-like heads that appear in the sky.
I took on Bubble Man like it was nobody's business (after getting past those darn shrimp of course), but the Air Man level is just too much. This game is no joke, but I must say it's addicting as hell.

Megaman 2 is an absolute masterpiece. But I'll admit, it does get damn hard. (Just wait til you get to Dr. Wily's stages!)
I never could beat it as a kid, but I did recently with an emulator.
Was the Save/Load State feature abused severely? Perhaps...but I beat the game damnit!

That makes me feel slightly less incompetent as a gamer. I need to play video games more often haha.trufun202 wrote:Megaman 2 is an absolute masterpiece. But I'll admit, it does get damn hard. (Just wait til you get to Dr. Wily's stages!)

Re: Megaman 2 - Is there something wrong with me?
Uh, guys...
Megaman 2 is the easiest of all of the NES Megamans. The bosses of that game ares so fucking ridiculously easy (almost everything can die in ten seconds from metal gear). Throw a metal gear at metal man, he dies in one hit. If you use the right weapon, it's a joke. Even with buster they're substantially easier than the other MM bosses.
True, MM2 does have its share of "cheap" deaths, but all of them do.
MM2 is substantially easier than the rest of the NES series. And yes, I fucking love it. Although I will have to say that Megaman 3 is my all-time favorite of the 6.
I used to be able to round it off in maybe 2 hours on the original cart.

Re: Megaman 2 - Is there something wrong with me?
I played like two of the older MegaMans. The secret is apparently to play the levels in the right order to get the right weapons, which seemed to be guesswork; otherwise you lose.
Correct me if I'm wrong, please.
Correct me if I'm wrong, please.
I realized the moment I fell into the fissure that the book would not be destroyed as I had planned.

Exactly, but not Megaman 2. You will do just fine doing anything in whatever order with buster, because the bosses are so damned easy.MarauderIIC wrote:I played like two of the older MegaMans. I'm really glad you pointed that out. Pretty sure this is the only Megaman game where half the robot master roster have the same weapon weakness.Megaman 2 is the easiest of all of the NES Megamans. Of course, dan, I seem to recall you saying something about never having beaten a game before. So it's definitely you. :)

Re: Megaman 2 - Is there something wrong with me?
I have beaten MM1-6 several times. I have a thing with my friend in Sweden where every summer we go through and beat them together.
I would rank the difficulty as such:
MM2 < MM3 < MM5 < MM6 < MM1 < MM4.
Megaman 4 was a BITCH. Don't get a false sense of security just because you can now charge that buster. XD

My cousins and I did the same thing with Final Fantasy II and Bubble Bobble. I'd go stay with them every summer and we'd play through both games completely. Good times!GyroVorbis wrote:I have a thing with my friend in Sweden where every summer we go through and beat them together.
