Project NATAL.
A revolutionary new way to play: no controller required. See a ball? Kick it, hit it, trap it or catch it. If you know how to move your hands, shake your hips or speak you and your friends can jump into the fun -- the only experience needed is life experience.

What do you think about this?
Can this really be called a game?
Is it too human?
ISN'T IT SCARY?
Think of all the possibilities! (interactive porn)

A Project NATAL Commercial/Showoff:
(not about the AI, but more the motion capture)

I have a feeling that it is slightly fixed because they're making it out that you can talk to him about anything when I'm pretty sure itll have a limited amount of subjects. Also Molyneux has a habit of over hying things.
I'll make your software hardware.

I'd have been more excited about project natal if there weren't a few things that made it look like the actors were syncing to the screen: ie, it doesn't necessarily work.
I realized the moment I fell into the fissure that the book would not be destroyed as I had planned.

(youtube) HluWsMlfj68 (/youtube) with [] brackets of course.

BTW, this looks awesome, kinda like Microsoft's new game system. I can't wait to see where this goes, even if it is a miserable failure. 8-)

Thanks guys.

I am still very sceptic about that video either, and for that matter, concentrate on the concept instead of what's real or not.
And you won't know for sure until it's out. ;)

besides the AI part, their live Motion Capturing technique is much more advanced than previous ones, much more accurate and overall amazing, the eyetoy had many problems in it(legs are legs, hand are hands and body is body, in the eyetoy anything moving was an object)

Think of this, combined with the Neurosky Mindset(brain waves game controller thingy) would give the perfect gaming expirience~!

I would be surprised if it works as well as it does in the videos when it is released. Look like it would be a bitch for program for.

He lies more than Benjamin Linus! [/geeky lost reference]

I think, that with some more development that it will be pretty good, but, as I mentioned in a similar thread, the voice recognition has to be up to the standard of the motion sensors, because believe me, milo saying "sorry, can you repeat that?" a million times would drive me up the wall!!

as for predefined scripts controlling milo, I agree, I seriously doubt that this project has limited scope in terms of interaction, can all of the human logical responses be emulated in a single application? I think not!

Perhaps he will have improved AI in the shape of downloadble content, imagine seeing this on the Xbox download window
He listens to you! (sorta), he plays games with you and he's your friend, we introduce to you, a new dimension in human interaction!

Milo: He's saying things to your friends when you go out of the room! expansion pack

Experience the thrills and spills of your new best friend, turning all of your real friends against you!

This little backstabber will take pride in keeping you all to himself, because he doesn't have anyone else.

And, coming this fall, Kleptomanic Milo! better get it before he does ;)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I think I can program pretty well, it's my compiler that needs convincing!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And now a joke to lighten to mood :D

I wander what programming language anakin skywalker used to program C3-PO's AI back on tatooine? my guess is Jawa :P

Technology that good, either doesn't exist yet or would be too expensive to implement on a home video game console.
I thought this was more impressive. (only because there's an actual demonstration)

That's just a Wii with some pretty graphics and a physics demo.
Nice presentation though.

I'd agree with you, if it wasn't using a camera to pick up information. On the Wii, the camera is in the Wii-mote and only picks up infrared light. That combined with accelerometers gives some nice motion control (AFAIK), but this is better.

Video of Natal in action. From what I hear the red suits aren't required, but who knows how true that is.

I see people are more interested in the motion tracking aspect :*Changing topic title*: (Probably because no1 believes the AI thing is real :p, it is not completely impossible though)

That was impressive. Still not at the same level as the video though. I'm still a bit skeptical on how well it would handle multi-player, and the whole Milo/A.I. thing.
