Which do you prefer:
overview, side-scrolling, tactics/SRPG(grid-based), scrolling overview, first person?
I'm making an engine for overview style of gameplay and not sure if I want to implement scrolling, so I want to hear your opinions

I'm not going to use your engine if you don't make it versatile. Gosh.

Are you talking about isometric?Donutslayer7 wrote:tactics/SRPG(grid-based)
But regardless, as Gyro said, you can implement scrolling with any of those. It's not really a matter of preference, it's a matter of meeting the needs of those who will be using your engine. If you plan on using your engine for more than one project, I'd strongly consider implementing scrolling if I were you.

You're correct. I'd much rather use a commercial one with years of development behind its belt.Donutslayer7 wrote:okay, I get the picture, maybe I'm thinking of something else, but...

Fair enough, fair enough, what you say is true.
