Cap's VS Montagues - an English project

Post by animangaman690 »

BACKGROUND

So we were begining our course in Shakespeare AKA the time we have to read Romeo and Juliet
I f*king hate English but I needed an "A" in the class to go to Honors 10. So she said there was a bonus
oportunity... She would give us 100 bonus points to the 600 point course grade for doing something MILDLY
related to Romeo and Juliet. I was tired of working on my FBLA project so I decided to take a break from it to take
advantage of this opertunity. This game was two characters, one computer one human, fighting each other until the
opponent's health was depleated.

ESTIMATED TIME TO COMPLETE

Time to complete graphics: 1 day. ( I used the female character from Golden Axe as a template )
Time to program the game: 4 days ( I was lazy and procastinated until the last possible week to turn in, and even though it was a small project, consider that I had about only one hour each day to work on it because of finals.)

I almost made a Tekken-style one screen horizontal fighter game like that once, but I stopped after getting the sprites to load. It looks good. ;)

I was working on a horrible game in Visual Basic for my comp sci class in high school, and a friend of mine was working some random battle system type thing in VB as well. We ended up being assigned an english project so we combine my platformer and hisbattle system to make the ultimate shitty battle-platformer.

My partner made up the grade sheet for our "custom programming project" (it wasn't on the list of pre-approved projects so we had to make up our own guidelines) and our English teacher gave us a 95 on it. She marked us off 5 points for "tidy syntax", rofl. She must have wikipedia'd it.

I also wrote a program for my Physics final, but that's a whole different (and much more successful) story. I think I posted it on the forums somewhere though.

Thanks for the comments. :)
Sorry it took so long to reply. I was at a two day tournament.

And THBP,

A few things to keep in mind while reading the story. ;)

#1) The Nurse is very preverted.
#2) Romeo and Juliet are emo.
#3) If you watch the modern version of Romeo and Juliet.
they still use Elizibethan English.
IE: When they say, "Bring me my longsword, ho!" they still say the exact same thing in the movie but they pull out AK-47's

Lol, they ARE emo =D

I remember the movie, but I thought the "sword" was a pistol in the movie.
