Yes well, for people like me with only a 300w PSU and no 6-pin from power supply, the 220 is fantastic. I'm not about to remove my motherboard just to upgrade my PSU.

(P)ATA == IDE

Yes, I'm pretty sure they are the same thing.
No, they're not. ATA == PATA. PATA != SATA. Parallel != Serial.
I just want to emphasize this.
ATA is not SATA. ATA is synonymous with IDE and PATA.

ATA is PATA is IDE <- Old, slower, parallel standard
SATA is just SATA <- New, faster, serial standard

err.. id just like to comment on the whole 32 bit 3 GB limit. this is a little right and a lotta wrong.
yes, xp 32 bit has this issue(and some others). but there are many 32 bit MS os' that do not suffer from this, some of them can handle 128GB at 32 bit, and the 64 bit versions 2TB.

i think even as early as 2000 AS could support 8 GB at 32 bit, and 2000 DC at 32 GB.
Some person, "I have a black belt in karate"

This seems to explain it pretty well.
