The pern project is designed for use with VC++.
VC++ is only used as an IDE while GCC (the real compiler) does all the work.
The appwizard (short for application wizard) will enable a new choice in the new project menu called "Dreamcast project". After choosing it VC++ will automatically set up everything according to what's in the appwizard file. In this case it'll tell VC++ to use an external compiler (GCC targetted for the SH4 processor). It'll also create a makefile for you.
But for Dev-Cpp I'd recommend DcFreeDev, It's a complete package containing everything you need. It's about 60MB IIRC.

yep... I've been set up for a while now. Got my extension cord and everything. Just waiting for 1 little CD to come in the mail from GyroVorbis..... the VC++. I guess I should cut him some slack though... I mean, I've only asked for it 2 weeks ago... and I'm sure he's just joking when he laughs at me and torments me by saying he's going to send it "right now" everytime I ask him about it.
Gyrovorbis.... did you send it yesterday like you said you would?
