Stage/Area/Place of Nostalgia
So I thought this may be a fun topic to hear thoughts on... I want y'all(Marcel's favorite word) to sit back, close your eyes and think of a place in a video game that is either instantly recognizable or more so takes you back to some set of memories(happy or otherwise) and just post something about it.
For instance, I played some Resident Evil on my DS yesterday and as soon as I got to that forsaken dining hall which is dead silent with that infernal clock ticking away it took me back. Countless times in my younger days I would get so lost only to wind up in that room again or I'd use it as a place of solace from the undead, it was always a safe place to be. That clock, I think, is what really awoke the memories.
The first Resident Evil always stuck with me, even dictates how I behave in games today. I'm always extra stingy with my money and ammo because of that game. I"m always afraid to use a certain gun in case I were to run out of ammo and be completely screwed.

Megaman 3 - Gemini Man's Stage
Sonic 3 - Ice Cap Zone
Donkey Kong Country - Cave walkway levels
Chrono Trigger - Zeal
Those are my favorites. They remind me so much of good times and my childhood. Whenever I'm there, I always smile and take a second to just enjoy the scenery.

Re: Stage/Area/Place of Nostalgia
Ocarina of Time for me too, probably. Maybe not Kokiri Forest, but maybe when you first step into Hyrule Field and the first few notes of the overworld theme take your breath away as you tremble with the anticipation of playing Saria's song for Darunia or stunning Gerudo with your bow and arrow or rounding up Cuccoos for a bottle or fighting those creepy blotchy enemies with the hands that come out of the dirt in the well.... Sigh.
Also when you're jumping across rooftops in FFVII, right after you help Aeris escape from the Turks chasing her in the church where she keeps her garden and she tells you maybe they're chasing her cuz they think she's cut out to be in Soldier. Oh I love you, Aeris. Cosmo Canyon, too -- all of it.
The first level of Phalanx gives me an overwhelming thrill of nostalgia, too. I probably played it a hundred times when I was younger, it's so awesome... But only the first level cuz that game's so damn hard I only made it to level 4 or 5 probably, and that was like once >.<

Interesting.. I was thinking of creating a similar topic.
For me it's Wild ARMs intro. Nostalgia + inspiration + feelings of carelessness and comfort.
PS: Those of you who haven't played this game, have missed too much to be called rpg fans.

Re: Stage/Area/Place of Nostalgia
I could never list them all here. The entire first disc of Final Fantasy VII tends to do it for me though. Whenever I'm feeling down I can just start a new game in that and play it for 4-5 hours.
Also, the moment you step onto the world map in 600AD in Chrono Trigger. That song (wind scene) really makes me nostalgia HARD.

Definitely the Ilex Forest in Pokemon Silver and the sewer in LoZ Majora's Mask.
