Yet Another Grass Tile Post
Hello fellow game developers!
This is my official art post where I will post all of the game design related artwork I do.
I'v only got one piece of artwork to show off at the moment but I hope I can update this post regularly.
Well my first piece of art to show off I am quite proud of seeing that I finished it.
And here is a bunch of them.
Honestly tell me what you guys think!
EDIT: This is no longer my official post thread.
This is just another grass tile thread.
Sorry.

Nice work! Although the grass straws are a bit big for that tile size, it makes it very repetitive.

Yes, nice job Lord Pingas.
I agree, they look like very large blades of grass
Maybe split that off as one tile, you know? Like a tall grass tile you can place here and there...
Keep up the good work!

I tried to touch your tile up a bit so you can see what I was thinking.

You're a great artist Pritam, not bashing you or anything, but I can still kinda see the grid on that, but I know that's just cause its an example... But I really think that his would look good as a single tile, placed around some grass

Yeah I didn't put much effort into it, but yeah I agree his tile would look good as a single tile, definetly.eatcomics wrote:You're a great artist Pritam, not bashing you or anything, but I can still kinda see the grid on that, but I know that's just cause its an example... Re: Lord Pingas Official Artwork Post
Do you guys have tools that show you the tesellated (tiled) version of your tile as you edit it?
The problem with tiles I used to find is you don't really know the effect you'll get if you tile it until you actually tile it.
I used to have a tool that would show me the tiled version while I edited the zoomed-in tile but I forget what it was.

Re: Lord Pingas Official Artwork Post
Well I don't have one, but have always wanted to write my own pixel art editor to support editing a tiled tile.

I don't use Gimp.
Re: Lord Pingas Official Artwork Post
Hm, I'm sure you could code something that you could easily reload a sprite in after you've edited it, then just display it in a grid... I mean a little extra work, but better than sitting there and tiling it...
