Hey everybody! I hardly ever post on these forums but I figured that I would make a topic for the project that I am working on so that more people become aware of its existence
Okay. So basically back in February I started making a little framework in C++ with SDL that allowed me to make the same game run on both the Wii and the PC. Ever since then I've started making a 2D engine based off of that framework and a map editor (written in C++ using Qt and OpenGL) to go along with it. In April I started making the editor and I'm finally at a point where I can use it for my current needs. Also, I set up the engine to run Lua scripts for creating and manipulating characters. Eventually, when I start to make an actual game with this, I want pretty much all of the game-specific crap to be handled in Lua and not hardcoded so I can reuse the engine in the future. Making this character system is just my first step towards achieving that.
So anyway, here is my latest video that shows you the editor and the engine, which runs identically on the Wii. I don't have my camera at the moment so I can't film that, BUT by this coming weekend I should have a short video showing it.
