I have some questions about the region coding on the ps2, and i find the info on wikipedia and forums kinda vague. I don't know a lot about this stuff, so sorry for dumb questions...
1. Ps2 has region coded games, right?
2. Are some, most or all games region coded?
3. Are there any versions of the system which can play games from both the european and the US regions?
4. If not, is this easily achievable with a mod/modchip?
Thanks in advance.

Re: PS2 region coding
I was browsing the unanswered posts and found this, the answer is yes it does have region coding for all games, NTSC for North America and Japan, and PAL for Europe. The reason for the difference has to do with colour currents. I'm pretty sure there is a converter for the ps2, I'm not sure if you have to get a mod chip, you might be able to get this working by soft modding, I'm not sure though. Now that I went back and read the date of your post you probably already figured it out, but I'll post this anyhow.
