In 14 years I'm going to read this thread and be fucking amazed at the great things you all will have accomplished by then.

You do realize that thechaosrift.com and these forums were here many, many years before "Elysian Shadows" was even conceived?avansc wrote:I hope for their sake that this project is gone waaayyy before 20 years roll around.

And I think I've read through pretty much every post before these boards were real big xD back in like 2004 which I do believe is when it was started

Ah sorry, my bad. I was thinking in terms of ES, I didn't mean my comment to be negative, on the contrary.GyroVorbis wrote:You do realize that thechaosrift.com and these forums were here many, many years before "Elysian Shadows" was even conceived?avansc wrote:I hope for their sake that this project is gone waaayyy before 20 years roll around.

In 20 years, ES will have surpassed Final Fantasy as the longest running rpg series and will have been solely responsible for Sega getting back into the hardware business with each iteration of ES earning Halo-esque sales numbers.
Dear god, they actually ported ES to a piece of celery!MarauderIIC wrote:You know those people that are like "CHECK IT OUT I just made Linux run on this piece of celery [or other random object]!!"? Yeah, that's Falco, but with ES.

Re: The Chaos Rft 20 years from now???!!!???
I was actually searching for an older "Games Beaten over the Summer" list...;p
Wayyyy back in the day, the chaos rift used to be more gaming than game development. We had a private forum called "The Realm of The UnRespectables." In order to maintain membership to this forum, we had a complex system for calculating what we called "1337 points"--things earned by your merit as a gamer. We had an algorithm for calculating how many "1337 points" you earned from beating any given game, as a function of your playtime, the average playtime, difficulty, and with bonuses for things such as "acing" games, "classic" games, all-in-one-go games, etc. We also had miscellaneous ways to earn points, such as posting pics of yourself with every known flavor or frappucino, fan-art, comics, reviews, etc. Also, we had scheduled gaming events, and a mandatory minimum amount you had to maintain. XD
Was a fun way to spend the summer of '03 (or something like that). ;p
When I stumbled upon this topic, I couldn't help but laugh and bump. XD
Also, the forums have actually been around longer, but we've had to reset them a few times in the past. =(
Anyway, it's pretty damned sweet to wittness the change in crowd. You bitches grow with us!
