It's not factual, but if by "Java programmers," you mean "many programmers," and by "don't know what NULL terminated is," you mean "can't be arsed to learn what a null-terminator is because its existence is generally not pertinent," then yes.

I guess it's kinda countered by the fact that you don't have to know about null termination to be proficient in Java.

The funniest part of all this is that this little sketch is probably done by some C elitest not knowing that string literals ARE NULL TERMINATED.

they weren't string literals... they were just strings. So some programmer forgot to add a null-termination (yeah yeah, he's an idiot for managing to do that), and you get garbage. It's supposed to be humor.
