ETA on ch. 18
is there one? I was under the assumption that two dev teams and so many exciting new things apparently happening meant new videos?

The ETA is moderately, relatively, slightly soon. We already probably have more to show than any other video. The problem is that we have a very specific goal in mind... BACK TO WORK WITH ME.

That's exciting! Looking forward to it when you guys get some time. (kudos for getting to it with the project and school though - it's cool to hear about and it's certainly inspiring/motivating for me)
Hey Falco, I'd still love to see that article on Component Systems that you were talking about writing. I'm still set on creating a 2D platformer engine using that design pattern once I get MY CURRENT project finished (you think you're getting close and it slaps you in the face with a wake up call that it's still got a ton of work left in it...). My favorite part of AiGD 17 has got to be chapter 3 when you show the class diagram (and I love that song by Cypher) followed by the beginning of chpt. 2 when you and Jarrod were talking about the component versus hierarchy approaches. Seeing how ugly my current project is (hooray for splicing my 3D code with a 2D networking project rather than building networking from the ground up) just makes we want to do it more.
I guess this kind of makes me a fanboy/bitch. Hey, it's not like you hear enthusiastic young programmers talking about the structural problems of inheritance based hierarchies in games anywhere else

What they're not telling you is that they're in the middle of outsourcing ES to India so that Falco can pursue his true passions in massage therapy.
Dear god, they actually ported ES to a piece of celery!MarauderIIC wrote:You know those people that are like "CHECK IT OUT I just made Linux run on this piece of celery [or other random object]!!"? Yeah, that's Falco, but with ES.

It'll be sometime in the 7th trimester, I think.
We're timing it so late abortion is still an option.

What... we get ES and a soothing massage from Falco for a mere 200 dollars? How is that bad?dandymcgee wrote:Fuck dat.Trask wrote:What they're not telling you is that they're in the middle of outsourcing ES to India so that Falco can pursue his true passions in massage therapy.
Re: ETA on ch. 18
Rewatching the old chapters (man falco don't you just hate it when we do that?)
And I'm thinking this next video better have a lot of shenanigans, a lot of code lectures, a good deal of name calling, and Peter....
