Moosader board competition - Zombieless Survival Horror

If anyone is interested, my board is going to have a game-dev competition from Dec 24th until Jan 31st.

Theme is "Zombieless Survival Horror", as survival horror was voted for, and I'm forcing creativity on everybody (tired of zombie games. Come on, there are more things out there to survive from!)

What would you consider as Survival Horror?

Because, in my head, it is a rather ambiguous genre and there is not a distinct border between it and just horror or just survival.

Horror-Grotesque-Dark themed
Survival-Stay alive, be it a house trying to consume you, or enemies attacking you... A regular horror could be puzzle, or less survival more objectivey etc. etc....

Trying to survive, with the risk of shitting your pants.

Resident Evil, Silent Hill, etc.

I'm also thinking of stuff like The White Chamber, 7 Days a Skeptic, and trying to think of some other games that have gotten some reaction out of me in one way or another. (I guess that would even include Space Quest 4...)
