Re: My first game: A Zombie RPG
It's been some time since my last update and I finally got a new video up. LOTS has changed, got music, new art (though character sprites and weapons still not done but enemy sprites and animations are), new menus, global leaderboards, everything updated. I have implemented online multiplayer as well although it is not shown in this video. Almost everything is complete, there are some minor things that need cleaning up as you can see in the vid, a couple tiles, some of the weapon buying, dialog, polish up multiplayer... a few others
I think im about 2 weeks from submitting it into review for xbox live indie games. There is still a lot to do but iv been working on it like crazy and think 2 weeks from now it should be solid. In that time i will receive all the sound effects, some more music, character sprites and animations, story line dialog, and a few others.
Right now I am pretty excited, although 5 months ago i wanted to be done by thanksgiving haha. O well, I wanted it to be enjoyable and I still wont release it until i feel it is fun to play and 100% complete.
as you see, the splash screen for big rook games is just a pic, if anyone has any experience with doing a cool splash screen and would be interested let me know.
please watch the vid and give any feedback.
Hopefully my next update will be my trailer!!!

Re: My first game: A Zombie RPG
the only bad points i could point out are:
- the flames graphics look better than the rest of the art
- the grass tile looks a bit too tiled
other than that looks really cool

Re: My first game: A Zombie RPG
good eye, and i completely agree. still not sure if im going to change up the flame to a more cartoon-ish look, I probably should though to keep suit with the other art.k1net1k wrote:the only bad points i could point out are:

The game supports full hd 1080p and 720p as well. currently I am having issues with the scaling of 720p which (again) is causing issues with grid lines, argh. that isnt helping the grass tiles look better. Although in 1080p with no grid lines they still kind of have a tiled look, but its a little better. maybe i will see if the artist can make a slight change.
thanks for the honest opinion, it helps. I thought it was just the terrible artist in me that thought the grass could mesh a little better

The first, it definitely looks more epic.

Definitely the first, though I'd slightly shrink the black or slightly increase the text size (though not too much).
Looking good
