The windows dialogs for opening and saving files are not working in some programs. The windows just do not show up and this means that in some programs I cannot open or save files. This problem isn't present in all programs though.
I'm thinking that it is due to some sort of corruption in windows files which provide these dialog boxes, but I'm not entirely sure if this is right or how to attempt to fix it. Google did not seem to find any relevant results. If anyone has any ideas as to what the problem is or how I could fix it then I would be grateful.
Some examples of programs which aren't able to use these dialogs: Visual Studio, Notepad++, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, iTunes.
Some examples of programs which are able to use these dialogs: Notepad, Paint.Net.
My operating system is Windows 7 64 bit.
