Re: you first video game console?
Atari 2600. We had a 2 player game called hide and go seek. one person closed their eyes while the other player chose a spot to hide in a house, then other person looked for them. that was it. for some reason my brothers and I found sitting on a couch playing this more amusing that actually playing hide and go seek. it was awesome. Also i remember E.T. for the reason that it was possibly the worst game ever made.

Lmao, that sounds like so much fun. And your parents couldn't yell at you for going places you weren't supposed to go to hide.EdBoon wrote:We had a 2 player game called hide and go seek. one person closed their eyes while the other player chose a spot to hide in a house, then other person looked for them. that was it. for some reason my brothers and I found sitting on a couch playing this more amusing that actually playing hide and go seek. it was awesome.

My first console was Nintendo 8-bit and I still have it at my parents' house. The best game I played on it and still have it, was Ironman Stewart's Super Off-Road, or just Off-Road, like I used to call it.

Re: you first video game console?
My very 1st Experience with Video Games,My 1st owned console,My Introduction to the world of Video Games: Nintendo 64.
The Nintendo 64 & the first game was Super Mario 64.
I was about 3 years old and I would watch my grandfather play for countless hours finding the stars and going into the different levels.
Then,I guess he left the game on or just handed it too me and I began to play, and since then i've been playing games since then..only thing is..being only 3..and no one was there to correct me. I held (Still do to this day) the controller backwards. And I learnt to play the console that was. so up was down, down was up,the C-buttons were all opposite. you get the point. But I can play it perfectly with holding the controller backwards, not just the N64 but every console to date. Excluding Consoles such as the Wii,GBA,DS Ect.
Anyways,I loved/love the N64 it was my 1st console,I have so many memories with it. And to my surprise,It allowed me to teach myself how to play.....backwards. But hey,I think its cool. Other people see me play Video Games and I always get the same reply '..dude your holding it backwards?' 'This is how I play,I never learned how to play the correct way' (:
So basically: The Nintendo 64,Super Mario 64 and Learnt to play incorrectly.

My first console was a SNES. I've still got it, along with my Nintendo 64, my Dreamcast, and my GameBoy Color (I gave my GameBoy away).

Re: you first video game console?
We had those plug-in pong variants, but to be honest I find it difficult to view those as consoles - as you can't change the games, I see them more as stand-alone games rather than consoles.
But my first console was a Vectrex, which is about as nostalgic, genuine, and retro as you can get...
Has a great joystick, supports 2 players, vector display and transparent overlays to give the games some colour. For some reason, these things played smooth as hell, comparable with the arcade vector systems. I think I've owned most popular consoles and computers since then, but nothing sticks in my mind more than sitting round that little black box waiting on my turn.
