Dance Dance Revolution Misjudged?

Post by Guest »

Okay, to begin this topic, I'd like to tell about my new 3rd party dance pads I just got. As I'm sure you can guess, these pads are for dreamcast. Apparently they used to be for Playstation, but those Chinese people did a nice job converting them. They still have the Playstation square, triangle, circle and X, but other than that and a seal saying "Not officials Sony Product", there is no way to tell.

Surprisingly enough, they work GREAT and appear to be very durable. I would advise anyone and everyone here to get them. I've had them for over a week now, and they are GREAT. Just stick a cardboard box under them (If you are playing on carpet) then bust out l33t skillz.

I realize that I, along with many other respectable forum members, have declared DDR gay and decided that only gay people play it. THAT'S BULLSHIT. We decided that mainly because we hadn't really played it ourselves, and partly because of the posers at the arcades that try to act l33t. I'd like to tell everyone that DDR, like bawls, cannot be soiled because of gay people playing it.

Seriously, take back most the bad things I said about DDR and go buy the bastard for Dreamcast. Hell, it's only 12 dollars! (BTW, when it says 40 day shipping, it means it. I guarantee it'll arrive, but it'll seriously take 40 days to ship if you don't pay over 15$. But, if you do pay 40$, it really will come in 2 or 3 days.)

Anyway, I'd like to know if I, having said this, changed any people's minds about DDR. Tell me if you think it respectable or not.

DDR totally kicks ass. In the week that Arce has had his pads I've managed to acquire major skills. I need to go to the mall and own some of the kids with no life now. Then I'll be like a god.

DDR's awesome. I've only played it twice, but it's an awesome game. Anyone who hasn't played it should.

I don't understand what's so charming about DDR. What's so fun about it? Please, someone tell me, I want to know the secret.

Umm... there isn't charm in horny Japanese girls singing like they wish to god they had been Brittany Speares.

It's fun for the same reason Samba is (Samba is fun for way more reasons though). Because you're playing a game on a freakin' dance mat. It's fun. You get into it despite the bad music. Not only is it actually a game, but it's challenging your physical abilities and skillz as well.

I'd sometime like to get it if I can find a dance mat cheap.
Is the PS2 version any better then the PS1 version?

Before they turned the arcade into a boat shop, I used to go and watch people play.
This is a joke about unfunny jokes. And bad use of irony.

The Dreamcast version owns all. Not to mention there's the first Dreamcast homebrew ever made for free: Feet of Fury.

Well, first of all, a homebrew is a home-made game. The guy that wrote the whole Dreamcast library that the scene uses (KallistiOS) wrote Feet of Fury with it, and it was the first ever home-created game to come to DC (if I'm not mistaken).

It's like $15 or $20 from the GoatStore and I believe you even get Dan Potter's autograph nowadays.

The game is really amazing and it is better than the commercial Dance Dance Revolution released for the Dreamcast. It just goes to show that it's not always the top-notch Japanese development studios who can bust out the goods.

I know what a homebrew game is, but what do you mean by,
it was the first ever home-created game to come to DC (if I'm not mistaken).
Does that mean that it was the first homebrew game dor the the DC, or the first homebrew game for the DC that was actually sold in stores?

Actually, it might be both. I'm almost positive it's the first homebrew ever to be sold though.

heh heh heh...me and wilson industries played the REAL DDR (not stepmania on the comp) and we found it was at least...238905q23589q273589q23 times harder than using fingers. and we pretty much got laughed at. but we still kept coming back...

its a hard game at first...but its like a sport. heck it probably IS a sport. its fun. its addictive. and the only reason why is...well...youd have to play it yourself to see. do it. I promise you youll love it. and waste a lot of your life on it.

if i only had 20$ of my life to spend...
want a cookie?

i love to write. if you love to read, PM me. :)
