The only way we could make it "scroll" is with the pvr. The map would zoom in and out depending on where the character's were, just like smash bros. But we are using SDL, so that is impossible.
I'll upload and post the options for us tonight.

For the sake of visual comparisons:
Problem:
Solution 1:
Soultion 2:
I personally like num 2 best even though you loose some playing space. Its the fact that the border is preserved which would be good if the graphics were themed in some way. What be your views?

Yesh, I see what you mean Gyrovorbis. As for mulitplayer on the keyboard, I see only 2 people could comfortably use the keyboard. But we could also make it compatable with joysticks. Lets face it though, the best multiplayer goodness will be located on teh DC. BombaFoo fest anyone?

Don't get me wrong, I am not suggesting making it only one player. And JS Lemming, you're missing the whole point of the game: to get it done on PC, along with other mini game type things to increase popularity of site. More people don't have dreamcasts than do.
Anyway, I really don't think one screen will be adequate for the bomberman game you're planning on. I really think it should scroll. Lots of respectable games have it so the none of the players can lave the screen, but it scrolls when a player tries to move off the screen and there is no character standing on the opposing end to block it from doing so. You know what I mean?
And, is there a way in SDL to stream data over a LAN? Just curious…

Two things. One GoldenAxe isn't a Bomberman game, dip-shit. Two, if you ever pull your "oh my god, he just owned me in some way, let me start flaming and cussing him to death" thing again, not only will I walk in your room and beat the shit out of you, but I'll ban your fatass from this forum faster than you can gobble down a bowl of pudding, you asswipe.

I did get in your grill and I'm sorry. You need to learn to quit being such a god damn sourpuss and completely exploding out your asshole whenever somebody says something remotely offensive to you. Notice how not a single person here likes you?

Who's the "sourpuss" who STARTED flamming? Who's flamming their intestines out now? Hmm...let me think...YOU.
I could care less how many of your friends like me. It's not like the forums are all big and popular with lots of visitors from around the globe. Almost everyone on the forums you have met in real life or online, then lured here. Think I care how much random people from your damn programming classes like me? No, I don't. You're a dumbass to think I do.
