What file format should I use for 3d models?

Post by YourNerdyJoe »

I've decided to venture deeper into the land of 3d and I'm not sure what the best format would be to export my 3d models. As far as I know .OBJ doesn't support animations and results in large file sizes because it's text based. I tried .3DS but lib3ds has know useful documentation that I can find. I'm using 3ds max and the person that I hope will decide to help me later on uses cinema 4d. All I need is something that supprots animation and the library for it has enough documentation that I can figure out how to use it.
See that?.....
