This is a discussion for game developers about where they got their inspiration. Please post your story, I'm quite interested.
I'm happy to say that the AiGD was what inspired me. It actually showed me that making a game was possible for someone without corporate funding. I was already into programming but this really brought me up a further level. I hope every member of the team reads this, you ALL were my inspiration. I hope this brings you a thread of happiness, you guys have changed my life. I have gotten into XNA game development now as a result of watching your videos.
When you guys stopped posting videos I died inside out. I watched over the entire series at least 2 more times. You don't know how depressed I was. I physically gasped when I saw the new chapter. PLEASE MAKE MORE! My inspiration grows larger as I continuously immerse myself in your project. Thank you for everything ES team, thank you.
Now it's your turn, post what you guys are inspired by to make games.

Well what inspired me was ES (Why wouldn't it ), also I take inspiration from all indie developers, I love getting new ideas from them. My favourite devs are trufun, ES team, TheAustech, Ethoslab.
Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first place. Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it.
Damn Right.

Not exactly the center of the topic, but I just found this really nice article on TechCrunch.
