The latest raging cool trend!

Post by Falco Girgis »

That's right everybody, nowadays all kids are talking about is -- constructing their very own Paper Dreamcasts.

I'm not kidding either. I've made quite a few.

Here's the printout:

Okie Dokie. Here's my paper DC pictures:

Image
That'd be me in spongebob pajamas and slippers doing the splits accross my mom's bathroom counter holding my latest creation: Big Bertha. Big Bertha is an impressive 7 sheets of printer paper (economy mode) and is an estimated 1.5 to 1.8 times the size of an actual Dreamcast. Ahh... the wonders of stretch/skew in PAINT...

Image
Here are the paper Dreamcasts laying on the floor. You can compare them to actual size. The two Dreamcasts on shelves are real, the ones on the floor are paper.

Image
Here's a close-up of all the paper DCs at my house (the rest are at my friend's).

That's it.... I'm making one. Don't try to stop me. I've already started printing.

Aight, here's my first one. A baby.

Image
Yep, although the picture makes it look all dented, I swear it isn't.

I had to show off the bottom side!

My next one will be made of cardboard, so it won't be so crushable.

PS: This was actually kinda difficult to make when glueing the last parts together. Thank goodness the print left a whole to jab at the insides.

That's flickin' good looking, JSL!

Oh, and I had to tell you guys. My dad bought some photo paper last night and actually made himself a paper Dreamcast... He doesn't even play Dreamcast. Apparently the trend is catching on...

Wow, that's cool JS Lemming. Your next challenge should be to create a working Dreamcast that small.

I gots me some mad miniture skillz. Small construction tip: Use a toothpic to apply glue. Do not apply glue near face, including eyes and mouth.

Hah! Lovely. I love it! I made one of those many moons ago but lost it. Too bad I don't have a printer now to make a new one.

Ah, so that's how you did it. I always end up getting glue everywhere and stuff...
