Re: E-Newsletter?
Excellent job, pritam, that looks awesome.
While I'm sure everyone has Adobe Reader or the available alternatives, I do see your point about it being more efficient. I'll have to make sure the software I'm using can export that (seems like it should).pritam wrote:About distributing this via PDF, I think it's a bad idea because it's slow, you need additional software from Adobe to view it, it's more efficient to distribute it as HTML+CSS (which is easy to convert to PDF if ever needed), it's easier/faster to keep a standard format through CSS.. the things that come to mind at the moment.
Not sure I understand what you mean, are you talking about submitting articles directly to the newsletter itself? Seems like that could lead to a lack of organization rather quickly. Unless I misunderstood - because regardless how they're submitted, it's best that one or two people set the layout.JaxDragon wrote:Also, with html/css/php you could have people login to the site, and send articles from there.
Much appreciated!avansc wrote:I am working on something small right now. I'm just gonna give a link to a PDF, and i'll also give the link to the latex source.
Badass. We need more time to get the layout/art set anyway. :PGyroVorbis wrote:You have my WORD that when I return from my Salt Lake City, Utah vacation, I shall be getting off of my ass and writing you my article. :D
Re: E-Newsletter?
Haha! You've got my apologies for the continued "my article shall be here!11oneone" from both me and everybody else.
The ES team has been extremely busy, both in Priv. Dev, and in real life. We've got a pretty strict timeline made up and priority list.
I just wanted to let you know our articles for you are on that list, and urge anybody else willing to go ahead and submit! Also, i think it'll be much, much easier to draft content once 1) we get the ball rolling, and 2) our new site is operational.
Consider this a -buuuummmppp!-

Re: E-Newsletter?
Jeez guys, I put in my article on the moosader competition already, and they've already finished another one, come on now xD JK JK I'll probably do another one to replace my old one... although I'm not sure this one will have as much content, that one didn't have too much, but this one no one signed up for, and most people who signed up dropped out.... One of the games apparently isn't working on many computers either... so yeah....

Re: E-Newsletter?
Perhaps this is not the time for it, it'll work out.
Re: E-Newsletter?
Oh, ladies and gents.
In about 2 weeks, after some serious ES updates, I'll make damned SURE both Falco and I push to get this off the ground.
My apologies for the lack of time to do it sooner.

Re: E-Newsletter?
Actually, if you're all still interested, my content is about to be complete... the content is also going on our new site, so I have to get my shit done either way.
Our new site will also be a great way to promote this should we go through with it...

Is that hinting at a *near* release of the new site ?GyroVorbis wrote:Actually, if you're all still interested, my content is about to be complete... the content is also going on our new site, so I have to get my shit done either way.
