Nokia sucks I'm sorry...
The iPhone IS the best out there right now hands down.
If you deny it, I will kill you...

I have the iPhone 3G, and it isn't expensive at all, I don't understand why people think it is... $30 extra a month who cares?

The iPhone 3G is pretty expensive, but it's not killer, however it's not the best.

It is a great platform, a great tool, a great machine, using a really slick OS and interface. As a phone it kind of fails pretty hard though. The battery life is crappy (not as bad as it used to be, but it's still hard to get through a full day at work without charging it), which is the main complaint most people have with it. It's one of the main things that a phone should be able to do--go through a full day without needing to be charged.

And nokia sells more cell phones than any other company out there, make some of the most forward-thinking phones out there, and have a lot more to offer than the iPhone. Symbian is a lot more open, a hell of a lot more stable, and a lot easier to program for than the modified version of OSX the iPhone uses, and the n-series is light years ahead of the iPhone. Even if the iPhone is extremely sexy and very cool, it's not the best--the n-series phones have AMAZING cameras (I'm probably going to do a section for our next video with mine), you can do video conference calling, not to mention Symbian OS handles the fact that yes, you have a phone and don't want to lose the data, and no, you don't have much power and want to run things very fast anyways a lot better than the iPhone OS does. Instead of denying access to more than one application at a time, or denying access to certain parts of the phone to certain apps etc, they just use stricter and more secure protocols. And yeah, they have the GPS and Accelerometer and the full keyboard (oh noes, no touch screen! EH, wrong, nokia n97.

Take a look at what nokia's line has to offer, and you'll quickly realize the iPhone is actually playing catch-up with the European and Asian phone markets. Their phones are light years ahead of ours. I've got the n82, a rather dated european phone, and it still does quite a bit more than even phones like the Blackberry Storm, and is more capable than a lot of above-average phones in America (like the sidekick, shadow, etc). The only phone I'd say is even close to the n95/6/7 is the G1, and only because of it's open platform, not even necessarily because of what it comes with out of the box. Nokia's reigning in the cell phone market, hands down.

Now I just wish I could afford an n97 :(

Do any of these look remotely interesting, or even like they'd be fun?
I'm sure they've somehow managed to botch The Oregon Trail as well.

They have so little faith in their games & apps store, it's just a black-and-white text list with no images. The games don't even have descriptions, just title and price.
I think this is an example of how you can screw yourself in this way by using such a closed freaking platform (BREW).

Nobody makes games for it because it's $400 to get "signatures" for 100 apps (so you'd think there'd be 100's of apps for my phone??),
and since there's nothing good on the phone, nobody's going to want to develop for it since nobody will want to buy it anyway. How is someone supposed to freaking break even at that price?! Yes, it's $4 a game, but have any of us actually written 100 games/apps?

I'm going to have to invest in an iPod sometime.

I've been a fan of Bejeweled for a while now, if you like those gem-matching games it's a great time killer.
Bettie Barista sounds like the worst thing in the world. Maybe because I used to be a barista.
Sudoku seems pretty hard to fuck up; if you like it then you'll like the app.
Tetris is pretty much the same way
Hero of Sparta is one of the games I might buy for the iPod Touch because it looks really awesome. For another phone, I dunno.
Guitar Rock Tour seems like the second worst thing in the world, beaten only by Bettie Barista, but again I'm probably prejudiced there.

I'd definitely suggest the iPod.

Why do you think Nokia sucks?

And no, iPhone isn't the best thing out there. It has a cool user interface, big 3.5 capacitive touchscreen, but that's about all. It only has 2mp camera, which is far beyond standard nowadays( nokia's nseries phones mostly have 5mp camera ).

I carry my DS and PSP around with me in my purse everywhere I go anyway, so I have Brain Age for that.
I was just hoping there'd be a decent use for the qwerty keyboard and baby arrow and shift keys on the thing. Cricket advertises Doom RPG on their site, but apparently it's not available on my phone. :(

Because I don't like their phones at all, it's only personal opinion of course.
I understand how big of a company Nokia is.

It depends on what you want in a phone. If all you want is to be able to call people, text, browse the web and email (which is all a lot of people use it for), then the interface is much more important than any other features other smart phones have that the iPhone doesn't. The interface is especially important with the web browser. On other phones I've seen, the browser is barely usable.

Yeah I know, all the other phones usability is basically none.
The iPhone gives me ease of use with a powerful OS!
You can't deny that the phone is defiantly easy and fun to use.
