Easiest way to know is to ask, but sixteen should be fine as long as any cigarettes/alcohol is in a locked case. (For instance: In my state you can't work in a convenience store if you're under 18).

That's kinda odd, because I applied for a job in the uk for a newsagents that sold tobacco/cigarettes, and at the time, you could buy tobacco at the age of 16 (my age at the time), but then the ban (over 18's only) came in about a month after I started (but I was allowed to stay on), just imagine if that ban had come earlier, no job perhaps (actually probably would have saved me much pain toil and labour, but hey!)

You could still ask about possibilities of a summer research grant, but I'm not sure what options there are for something that short-term besides something in humanities (like interviews above).

yea, my friends dad gets paid a TON to host and manage other peoples websites on his server computer
he also does SOME website creation and gets paid a hell of a lot for doing it
i was actually thinking about making websites/templates and selling them for good cash
"so yea, if I had to say, then selling them for 50-150$ easily,
although anybody that is asking for something big, like major PHP or flash related
I charge 200$ safely"
is basically what he said when i asked

The biggest problem for me with respect to web development is connections, getting a client. It's why I tried those bidding sites which are a waste of time because they are always spammed with a hundred people who "have been doing it for 15 years!" fuck that bid shit for a nobody.

I agree, the hardest part is getting a client. Leading up to that you have to convince them with a good portfolio of work and to build a good portfolio you need some real examples which requires getting a client...its a bit of a chicken and egg problem.

I will most likely become the starving artist when i graduate at the end of the year, want to try and get into the illustration biz, though my degree will be for graphic design. Hoping that sometime in the near future that I would be able to come back to get my bachelors in illustration. So im a bit worried about what im going to be doing after I get out. Most likely move out to Nashville just because there is nothing for graphic design here in Clarksville. Maybe i can latch on to a printing company for a few years to save up my money.

Stand on the corner of a busy intersection, holding a sign that says bet you can't hit me with a quarter.
My friends did that for like 2-3 hours and got almost 30$ in quarters...
But then a policeman escorted them home for causing traffic hazards
