You should say: each has more bumpmapping than the previous one

I thought RE5 was pretty good about not bumpmapping everything to hell and having actual graphical integrity.
But Jesus Christ, Resistance 2 looks like a bumpmapping orgy. XD

Yes, overall RE5 looks pretty neat. Although, if you pay attention to the wall, it looks like plastic.
I prefer comic styles over these plastic "real" looks.
