I sent in a survey and told them how horrible it was and that if they didn't fix it I'm switching.. when they asked about the guide I said, I'm glad you tried to explain, but the page shouldn't be so complicated it needs a guide

Seriously? IMHO it was way better before, the whole thumbs up/down idea is pure shit. You need a scale, the stars was way better. The descriptions are terrible now, they where bad before, but they're worse now. Also the comment system is pretty buggy, all in all i'm not too happy about it.

I prefer the new layout. The thing I do not like about it is not having star ratings, but apart from that I like it.

While I don't like they took out 5 star ratings, I do agree, I often found myself just giving videos only 5 stars and not anything else, so the change doesn't really bother me.
Everything else I've gotten used to, there's a few things I'd like to change.
Posting comments is a little buggy, and I'd like my sub box to fucking work right like it's supposed to.

The good thing is, it is improving from when they made it live.
I was in the beta, and got these features a while back, one thing that REALLY ground my gears was auto play, at the beta stage, they made auto play default, which made the video change to some other random video, even if you were maybe trying to keep on the same page or something, luckily someone bitched about that and they made it off by default.
All the other changes I can live with, I'm not sure what I make of the likes and dislikes, it's definitely a move towards making YouTube more like a social network, even though it isn't it, it's a video site, and I wish the company would concentrate on making videos load well, and look good on the site, and not if the boxes can collapse and move around or make the comments section look like a 'wall'

Though I haven't seen this myself, my friend said that they've made an "HTML 5" video player that's apparently a lot faster than the current Flash one (he has a piece of crap computer, but the videos that use the new player apparently load & play pretty fast). However, the support for it apparently is only in Google Chrome and Safari at the moment, though it will hopefully get added to other browsers.

I forgot about that, although to be honest, I'm not even sure I've ever gotten it to work, I use chrome and I've opted in, but it doesn't work with videos with ads apparently
EDIT: okay, so I finally found a video which uses HTML 5, the quality is noticeably lower than flash, but if I'm being honest, I would take a stable, embeded video within a standardised language over the constant headache I've had with a flash video.
I noticed a funny 'quirk' with the flash player on YouTube, if you have Windows 7 (x64) try ripping a few CD's (in WMP) while you watch some YouTube videos, in my experience, it stops the rip and something goes monstrously wrong with the graphics on the screen

I don't like the thumbs, the descriptions, or the comments, nor do I like the way they link videos at the right... I have trouble finding different parts of different episodes now... Besides those what else is on youtube to like?
