I don't know how I missed this before. This is some really cool stuff! I'm eager to see the air hockey multiplayer. Do you have a game that the level editor is for, or did you try to make it adaptable to many games?MrDeathNote wrote:Well, i finally got the video up but the quality sucks because it hasn't finished processing yet. Thanks man You'll be happy to hear that the map editor is being used to deveop a 2d rpg in OpenGL, developement isn't going too badly at all. I finished the OpenGL rendering system, the level sysytem is up and running, so i have scrolling map, and collision has been implemented. Also all the art for the game is original, my brother is an art student and hes doing the art for the game and its coming along nicely. We have recorded a dev video and its being edited for youtube at the min. The air hockey game is also progressing well, currently im writing a server application which will have a login system connected to a database, and a server lobby so ppl can choose who to play with, expect more updates and videos on both projects!!Maevik wrote:I don't know how I missed this before. Re: What projects are you currently working on?
I've been working on a 2d game engine for a while now using C++ and Allegro, and along side the engine, i've been making a map editor for it. Right now, I have a working rendering, map, object, textlog, inventory, and player system. I've also wrapped the Engine and ObjectController classes to Lua using toLua++, which allows me to spawn items from Lua. I've got warps working, but only directly from Lua. Here is my youtube channel -> http://www.youtube.com/user/mv2112mv
I plan on posting a new video either today or tomorrow. This is my first big project so I'm learning a lot in the process. When i finish the engine, I plan on making an RPG style game, but that is far in the future.

Easy to use program for personal code storage/back-up. With easy GUI based interface you can configure your source and destination folders, then drag and drop source files to be overwriten/updated. You can also keep track of what date and time you update source files, and copy/switch root directory contents to different places or on a drive.
Possible future features;
scheduled back-ups(its alive! ),
e-mail reporting,
extensive history logs,
encryption and password protection,
archiving capabilities

Re: What projects are you currently working on?
Right now I'm working on a tile based level editor, I put up my first dev blog on YT, but I've had to split it into two parts.
The first part is a run down on why I'm replacing my old editor and the features of my new one, and the second part is a little look under the hood and some general advice to beginners which may or may not be terrible. :S
The editor is intended to create maps to be used in multiple games, and as such I have decided to not include any significant kind of game specific logic (collisions, etc). It's just about the rendering!
Individual game editors utilising these maps come next hopefully.
