Code: Select all

cout << "Hello World" << endl;
I've just joined your forum, looks very good :)

I've only been learning C++ for about 4 / 5 months, mainly programming text based RPGs and mods for games like Orbiter and FSX. I'm currently learning (or trying to learn <_<) SDL and OpenGL. Can anyone point me to any good books on these? :)

Nice to meet all of you :D

Hey ;)

I'm like a broken record, but I'll say it anyway! The SDL DocWiki is an invaluable source of information: http://www.libsdl.org/cgi/docwiki.cgi

Now as you may know, like many societies, we have a sort of 'initiation', this requires us to carry out the following initiation procedures.

-Crossing the desert
-The unblinking eye
-The paddling of the swollen ass... with paddles.

Check the official forum rules if you don't believe me *hopes Silver doesn't bother checking the official forum rules  *

Seriously though, welcome to the forums, can't wait to see your future contributions ;)

Hey Ladies & Gents,

Long time lurker, first time poster. Been following the AIGD videos on youtube for about a year now. I'm a beginner C++ programmer, but hell, we all were at one time right? Just recently started applying my C++ knowledge into ridiculously simple SDL graphics and I hope to learn a thing or two from this board. I'm also a user over at gamedev.net under the same name. Some of my main other interests include collecting and playing SNES games, motorcycle riding, StumbleUpon, and days off from work. Happy coding folks.

Hi Folks,

I have been following the AIGD videos on youtube for about a year now, and it's amazing experience.

I work with programming (developing comercial software), but I always thinks about make my own games. And after saw all AIGD videos, I create a group with 7 members (1 - Roteirist, 1 - Designer, 1 - Script, 3 - Artists and 1 - Programmer ( me, of couse)). ;)

So, It's more one indie game group like yours.

I'm develop around 70% of the our map editor, and around 5% of the engine. The engine is so slow because we looking for a best platform to concentrate on it. (Maybe only PC, or PC and PSP or PC and Mobile phones).

And finally, I'm from Brazil. (So, if I wrote or write anything wrong, I'm sorry, because my native language is Portuguese ).

Well that's it!

Congratulation's to elysian shadows team.

'Ello everyone, this is my first post. I've been watching AIGD for a while. I really want to make something as good as Elysian Shadows someday. It'll take a while because I'm still learning C++.

Lot's of people know C++ here, and many others are learning, so if you have any questions that haven't already been posted, then ask away in the respective forum.

welcome, I hope you enjoy browsing and posting on the forums ;)

Hey saw some of the youtube videos and ended up here.

I've been programming for about a year/ year and a half in Delphi and after watching the videos and being inspired to write a game i've decided to jump to the C++/C# ship.
