Hi everyone. I'm a programmer in: Python, Common Lisp, Scheme, Ruby, and currently learning C/C++ simultaneously. It's kicking my ass so far, so I might be asking a lot of questions. Hope you don't mind.

Hi everyone,

I am interested in game development as a hobby, so I thought this would be a good place to hang out. I am just starting, so I am taking falco's advice and trying to finish a tetris clone. I am calling it "Beware Blocks" for now.

I just found the irc channel as well. Pritam has been very welcoming. Thanks Pritam! :)

MDK: I think I just won my op powers back. Prreeaaasseee??? I'm just like Jesus without special powers!

But yeah, no problem Jeremy, best of luck with your project and keep the community busy with questions.

Also, thawkins, welcome to the forums!

(I'm not good at these things.)

Hey everyone, I'm Sam at 16 year old guy. I've been teaching myself how to program for about 3 years now, but just recently really started building some nice things.(it's pretty much all been test/learning programs up till now) I only know 2D programming, I've never tried dealing with 3D(yet). Oh, and I'm an Apple lover.

I'm currently working on a C/++, SDL with OpenGL map editor. When I get some more of the unique features done for it, so it's not just another map editor, I'll be sure to post project details/videos here. It will, of course, be cross-platform.

I hope I have a nice time here, it seems like the community is great. :D

isamgray, Welcome :]

It's one of the few game development communities out there that won't sicken you. I haven't run across any douchebags here (except avansc ;) ).

You're from Dallas too! :D +1.

Thanks for welcoming me Pritam, and I appreciate the welcome you gave at #elysian_shadows.

From what I've seen so far, I think I'll like this place.

Hey, I am new here. My name is Jake. I am 19.
I talked to Falco on IM a few times and have finally joined the forums.
I am a novice c++ coder looking to learn more. I like to read, game, code, procrastinate, pursue martial arts, sleep, eat, and talk.
I have gotten up to basic 2d work in c++ (with SFML), to the point of a very bad pong clone. I will be taking a semester of CC before starting a 2 year degree at NH tech in Graphics and games programming.

Honestly intro posts are not my favorite thing, but I look forward to talking to people here, keeping up to date on the status of ES, and.... something else...?

Alright so I am not brand new to the forums but have been gone for a while so this is my new account.
My name is Tanner, I am 22 I started learning to program and doing a video series almost 2 years ago but got
busy with work and had no time to do anything else. So i finally have enough time That i have decided to jump back into learning programing and
making games. I just started a video series project following my progress over 90 days of learning to program right now mainly c# and xna
and also hopefully by the end of it making a simple game and getting it approved for the xbox indie section. obviously the game will be something simple and I do not plan
on making much money from it just want to be able to get a game out there for the experience and to help motivate myself. I am glad to be
back on the forums.

Hey everyone,

I'm a 21 ( 22 soon ) year old programmer with C/C++ and I loves games and game programming. I'm currently working on two projects; my 3D game engine called FirstGame Engine, which is currently on the back burner since I came to realize I did it wrong but I'm still creating code I plan to implement in the engine after a re-haul. My other project, which is my main focus, is called Project Space Tycoon ( working title ), which is a 3D turn-based, Sci-Fi, strategy/tycoon-sim type of game.

I'm a Mac user but I want my games to support all PC platforms, I work with OpenGL, GLUT and will probably work with SDL in the future otherwise I like to write my own code to learn more and keep things simple but I'm happy to use any useful APIs/libraries.
